Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is Bjork's last name?

Answer: Gudmundsdottir

Sigur jon Birgir Sigurdsson has co-written a handful of songs with Bjork, including "Joga" and "Scatterheart." Gabriela Fridriksdottir did the artwork on Bjork's "Family Tree" box set. Flemming Rasmussen produced a few albums for Metallica before Bob Rock took over for the band's 1991 self-titled release and doesn't have a connection to Bjork that I'm aware of.
2. The end of the video for which song features a highly animated Bjork tearing a live chicken in half by grasping a leg in each hand and pulling in opposite directions?

Answer: I Miss You

PETA people can relax- the majority of the video, including the aforementioned chicken rending part, were animated. The video was produced by John Kricfalusi, creator of Ren and Stimpy, and the animated portions of the video feature the quirky cartoon stylings of the original "Ren and Stimpy" episodes.
3. Spike Jonze directed the critically acclaimed 2002 film "Adaptation" as well as the video for which of these songs?

Answer: It's oh so Quiet

A fun video for a fun and unique song. It begins with Bjork washing her face in an extremely filthy bathroom.
4. Complete this lyric: "If you complain once more..."

Answer: "...you'll meet an army of me."

From "Army of Me." I was told by someone claiming to be an expert on the subject that Bjork wrote this song about her brother who, at the time, was being a self-pitying lay about.
5. What was the name of the first album to feature Bjork's voice?

Answer: Bjork

You likely don't have this one in your collection, as it was released in the late 70s in very limited numbers in Iceland when Bjork was still just a child. "Debut" is the name of Bjork's first solo album and "Life's Too Good" is the name of one of The Sugarcubes' best-selling albums. K.U.K.L. was the name of an Icelandic punk band Bjork sang for prior to joining The Sugarcubes.
6. Complete this lyric: "I want to be on a mountain top..."

Answer: "... with a radio and good batteries"

From the song "Alarm Call." "...to be safe up here with you..." and "...still throwing things off...," are lines from "HyperBallad", and "...swirling black lilies totally ripe..." comes from "Pagan Poetry."
7. Which film does NOT feature at least one Bjork song on the soundtrack?

Answer: The Game

"Tank Girl" features a couple of Bjork's tunes, while "Dancer in the Dark's" Oscar-nominated soundtrack is contained on Bjork's album "Selmasongs"- she played the character Selma in her acting debut in that Lars Von Trier film. "Stigmata" features "All is Full of Love" from Bjork's 1997 release, "Homogenic".
8. Complete this lyric: "Excuse me..."

Answer: "...but I just have to explode"

From "Pluto", an interesting song at the tail end of "Homogenic" during which she gives her voice quite a workout. "... I don't recognize myself..." is from "Headphones", "...this is where I'm staying..." is from "Anchor Song", and "...I'm going to prove the impossible really exists..." is from "Cover Me."
9. In what country did Bjork record the album "Homogenic"?

Answer: Spain

She recorded "Homogenic" at a scenic residential recording studio in El Madronal in southern Spain.
10. When did Bjork's debut solo album "Debut" debut?

Answer: June 1993

With hit singles like "Human Behavior", "Violently Happy", "Big Time Sensuality", and "Venus as a Boy", "Debut" turned Bjork into an international sensation.
