Serj Tankian is better known for being the lead vocalist of the band System of a Down, who released the song titled "Sugar" in their breakthrough album "System of a Down" in 1998. System of a Down also went into hiatus from 2006-2011, during which Serj Tankian began to focus on his solo career. Serj Tankian was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1967 and immigrated to the United States in 1975.

Matthew Sanders (aka M. Shadows) was/is the lead vocalist of the band Avenged Sevenfold. Avenged Sevenfold was started in California in 1999.
