1. What 1966 Bob Dylan song contains the following lyrics? "Your mama's working Your mama's moaning She's crying you know She's trying you know You better go now Well, I'd tell you what she wants But I just don't know how"

Answer: Obviously Five Believers

"Obviously Five Believers" was not played in concert during Dylan's infamous 1966 tour, and in fact was not played live at all until 1995 when it became a fairly frequent choice in Dylan's set lists.
2. In 1966, Bob Dylan released what song with the following lyrics? "Nobody has to guess That Baby can't be blessed Till she sees finally that she's like all the rest With her fog, her amphetamine and her pearls."

Answer: Just Like a Woman

Dylan wrote this ballad on Thanksgiving Day 1965 while on tour in Kansas City. One interpretation is that it was inspired by Edie Sedgwick, a pin-up girl who appears in sleeve photos of "Blonde On Blonde". Others allege it was inspired by his relationship with fellow folk singer Joan Baez.
3. What 1966 song was derided by the folk community as a "drug song" and which contains the following lyrics? "They'll stone you when you're riding in your car. They'll stone you when you're playing your guitar."

Answer: Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35

According to legend, Dylan assembled his band to rehearse this song. He provided lots of substances of questionable legality to them (and helped himself to some as well) to uh... lighten the mood a bit. Then they rehearsed the song, only Dylan had various band members switching instruments from ones they knew how to play to ones they did not.

After a day or so, the band members asked when they were going to record the song. Dylan informed them that they already had. It's also said that one member of the band jokingly asked what the song was called, obviously expecting the answer to be "Everybody Must Get Stoned". Dylan responded straight-faced, "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35".

The rest is history.
4. What Dylan song from 1966's "Blonde on Blonde" contains the following lines? "Won't you come with me, baby? I'll take you where you wanna go And if it don't work out You'll be the first to know"

Answer: Pledging My Time

"Pledging My Time" was the second song on "Blonde on Blonde" and was recorded in early 1966 in Nashville, Tennessee with session musicians. It is unusual for a Dylan song in that the harmonica part is in a blues style.
5. What surreal and humorous song from 1966's "Blonde on Blonde" contains the following lyrics? "She screamed till her face got so red Then she fell on the floor And I covered her up and then Thought I'd go look through her drawer"

Answer: 4th Time Around

Some consider this song to be a response to the 1965 Beatles song "Norwegian Wood", which "4th Time Around" seems to mimic. John Lennon of the Beatles initially considered it a pointed parody of "Norwegian Wood" with the lines "I never asked for your crutch, now don't ask for mine" being an accusation against Lennon for co-opting Dylan's style.

In later years, Lennon would take a softer tone, believing it to be a playful homage to "Norwegian Wood".
6. From "Blonde on Blonde", what Dylan song begins with the following? "I didn't mean to treat you so bad You shouldn't take it so personal I didn't mean to make you so sad You just happened to be there, that's all"

Answer: One Of Us Must Know (Sooner Or Later)

This is one of only two songs to be used from a New York recording session in late 1965 with The Hawks (later The Band). The other, "Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window", was released as a single in 1965.
7. What song by Bob Dylan contains the following cryptic lyrics? "Well, six white horses that you did promise Were finally delivered down to the penitentiary"

Dylan did not perform this song live until 1988, and has played it occasionally since, including during a session for his "MTV Unplugged" appearance.
8. What song, not released until the "Bootleg Series" but a staple in Dylan's 1966 World Tour, contains the following words? "And I know that you know that I know that you show Something is tearing up your mind"

Answer: Tell Me Momma

The song was shown played live by Dylan and The Hawks during his 1966 U.K.Tour in D.A. Pennebaker's documentary "Eat the Document". The same video of Dylan and the Hawks shown in "Eat the Document" was shown in Martin Scorsese's 2005 Documentary "No Direction Home".
9. From what steamy Dylan song will you hear the following lines? "Well, I rush into your hallway Lean against your velvet door I watch upon your scorpion Who crawls across your circus floor Just what do you think you have to guard? You know I want your lovin' Honey, but you're so hard"

Answer: Temporary Like Achilles

The song was originally recorded in a much shorter version with The Hawks in New York in 1965 under the title "Medicine Sunday". However, it was discarded. Dylan added to the song and rerecorded it in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1966.
10. You'll find the following lyric on what 1966 Bob Dylan song? "You say you told me That you wanna hold me But you know you're not that strong"

Answer: Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I'll Go Mine)

This song was released twice by Bob Dylan during his career. The first single was released in 1974 and hit number 66 in the USA. It was released again as a single in 2007, making it to number 51 in the United Kingdom. Its first appearance was on the first side of the second disc of 1966's "Blonde on Blonde".
11. What haunting 1966 Bob Dylan song contains this statement? "We sit here stranded, though we're all doing our best to deny it"

Answer: Visions Of Johanna

Dylan called "Visions of Johanna" (originally named "Seems Like a Freeze-Out") his favorite song on 1966's "Blonde on Blonde", one which captured "that thin, that wild mercury sound". Two different live recordings can be found on "Biograph" and "The Bootleg Series Vol. 4". A third version can be found on the "No Direction Home" soundtrack.
12. The following lyrics can be found on which epic 1966 song by Bob Dylan? "With your sheets like metal and your belt like lace And your deck of cards missing the jack and the ace And your basement clothes and your hollow face Who among them can think he could outguess you?"

Answer: Sad-Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands

Many critics have noted the similarity of "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" to "Lownds", the name of Dylan's first wife Sara. Her father was a scrap metal dealer in Wilmington, Delaware. Critics have noted the link between "sheet metal memories of Cannery Row" and the business of Sara's father, as well as the quote "with your sheets like metal and your belts like lace". Similarly the line "your magazine husband who one day just had to go" could be a reference to Sara's first husband, magazine photographer Hans Lownds.
13. In what 1966 song by Bob Dylan will you find the following puzzling words? "Mona tried to tell me To stay away from the train line She said that all the railroad men Just drink up your blood like wine An' I said, 'Oh, I didn't know that But then again, there's only one I've met An' he just smoked my eyelids An' punched my cigarette'"

This is another song on "Blonde on Blonde" that many speculate was inspired by actress and model Edie Sedgwick, known for her association with Andy Warhol.
15. The following verse is part of what 1966 Bob Dylan song? "The drunken politician leaps Upon the street where mothers weep And the saviors who are fast asleep, they wait for you And I wait for them to interrupt Me drinking from my broken cup And ask me to Open up the gate for you"

Answer: I Want You

As well as appearing on "Blonde on Blonde", this song was released as a single with a live version of "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" in June of 1966, reaching number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 16 in the UK. Some speculate that the song is about Anita Pallenberg, then the girlfriend of Brian Jones.
