Linkin Park is an American band from California that formed in 1996. "Hybrid Theory" became the best-selling album of 2001, promoting the band to the mainstream. Their first two albums had a nu-metal sound, but they began to experiment from "Minutes to Midnight" (2007) onwards, and more intensely on "A Thousand Suns" (2010), which saw the introduction of more electronic elements.

Fall Out Boy is a band from Illinois who had their breakthrough with their second album, "From Under The Cork Tree", in 2005. Two of their albums, "Infinity On High" (2007) and "Save Rock and Roll" (2013), reached Number One in the US. The single "Sugar, We're Going Down" was released in 2005 from "From Under The Cork Tree", and went two times platinum in the US.

The video for the song was directed by Matt Lenski, and featured an outcast with antlers falling in love with a girl in his neighborhood.

Canadian singer Justin Bieber shot to fame in 2007 after talent scout Scooter Braun saw a video of him singing on YouTube. "My World" was an EP released in 2009, soon followed in 2012 by a full-length album titled "My World 2.0". The song "Down To Earth" was not released individually as a single, but received much praise from critics of the album, and it managed to chart in Canada due to digital releases of the EP.

In an issue of "Billboard" magazine, Justin explained that the lyrics of the song are based on his feelings following his parents' separation. Other lines from the song include "And Mommy, you were always somewhere / Daddy, I live out of town / So tell how could I ever be normal somehow / You tell me this is for the best / So tell me why am I in tears? / So far away, and now I just need you here".

Christina Aguilera released her debut single "Genie In A Bottle" in 1999, which went into the Top Three in various countries worldwide. Eric Clapton is an English musician born in 1945. He found fame as a guitarist in various bands, most famously in The Yardbirds and Cream. The album "Slowhand" was named for his nickname, released in 1977, and contained the single "Cocaine", which was the B-side to "Lay Down Sally". Marcella Detroit of the band Shakespears Sister was a backing singer for Clapton, and she co-wrote "Lay Down Sally", later covering it twice: as a B-side to "I'm No Angel" in 1994, and on her album "The Upside of Being Down" in 2006.

Led Zeppelin are an English rock band who found fame in the 1970s. "Physical Graffiti" was their sixth album, and the first to be released from the band's own record label. In the initial stages of recording, there were interruptions as John Paul Jones, the bassist, was considering leaving the band, but he eventually changed his mind and production continued.

"Down By The Seaside" has never been played live. It featured on "Encomium" (1995), a tribute album to Led Zeppelin, and was performed as a duet by singer Tori Amos with the band's vocalist Robert Plant.

Jay Sean is a British singer who became known on the song "Dance With You (Nachna Tere Naal)" by the Rishi Rich Project, which was included on his debut album "Me Against Myself" (2004), which also included a hidden track called "Who Is Kamaljit?" referring to his birth name. Seether is a grunge/metal band from Pretoria, South Africa, who became well known following their first album "Disclaimer" (2002) when they toured with American band Evanescence - this led to the recording of "Broken" (which originally only had Shaun Morgan on vocals) as a duet with Amy Lee. This song was included on the soundtrack of "The Punisher" (2004).

Much of Seether's success is in the US, with various singles reaching Number One on the US alternative charts. The 2011 album, "Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray", reached Number Teo in the US. The album features a song, "Pass Slowly", written about vocalist Shaun Morgan's brother, who committed suicide in 2007.
