Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the longest word in 'Penny Lane'?

Answer: Photographs

'Penny Lane' was written by Paul during the "Sgt. Pepper" sessions, and was put on "Magical Mystery Tour". Penny Lane was a street that John used to live on, and Paul lived close to. On Penny Lane there actually was a barber shop and a fire station. The barber claims he cut John, Paul, and George's hair when they were kids.

After the song was released, Beatle fans stole the Penny Lane street signs.
2. What is the longest word in 'Come Together'?

Answer: Production

Lennon originally wrote this song for Timothy Leary's political campaign against Ronald Reagan. Leary was arrested and the campaign ended, so Lennnon brought it in for the Beatles to record. Many artists including Soundgarden, Aerosmith, and Michael Jackson have covered the song.
3. What is the longest word in 'Drive My Car'?

Answer: Understood

In 1965 Paul entered the studio with a chorus of, "I can give you golden rings, I can give you anything." John didn't like this because there are similar lyrics in 'Can't Buy Me Love' (I'll Buy You A Diamond Ring) and 'I Feel Fine' (He buys her diamond rings). This was the first Beatles recording to be extended past midnight.
4. What is the longest word in 'You've Got To Hide Your Love Away'?

One of the Beatles' songs written by Lenon/McCartney, but sung by Ringo Starr. The song supposedly pertains to drugs because in the sixties Yellow Sub was a pill. This has been called one of the most popular Beatles songs.
6. What is the longest word in 'In My Life'?

An autobiographical song written by John Lennon. It was written when he was asked why his book, "In His Own Write", contained more about him than his songs. George, John, and Paul all said this was one of the best Beatles songs.
