"Woman From Tokyo" was the only song the album "Who Do You Think We Are" to chart. It charted at number six on the Dutch charts, but only managed a sixtieth position on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Despite this, the album itself managed to chart at top position on the Norwegian, Danish, Australian, Austrian and Italian charts. It reached fourth position on the UK Album charts and fifteenth position on the US Billboard 200 chart.

David Bowie and Iggy Pop wrote "China Girl" together in Berlin during the late 1970s. Iggy Pop was the first to record it; David Bowie played keyboards and saxophone on Pop's version. Bowie would go on to release the song six years later. Bowie's version was significantly more successful, reaching second place on the UK Singles chart and third place on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

Murray Head's "One Night In Bangkok" was a great success on the charts, reaching first place on ten different international charts including Australia, Germany and South Africa as well as thirteen other top ten international chart positions.

This includes a third place on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

"Big In Japan" was recorded for German band Alphaville's début album "Forever Young". It was a number one hit on the Eurochart Hot 100 and US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts. It was re-released in 1992 and managed to chart again, reaching second place in Finland and fifteenth in Sweden. Guano Apes, another German band, covered the song for their 2000 album "Don't Give Me Names". Its two best chart positions were in Belgium and Italy where it achieved a fourth and fifth position respectively.

It was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The album "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" was Morissette's fourth album and provided her with the second number one album in a row, reaching top position on the US Billboard Hot 200 album chart.

It was certified platinum in twenty different countries, including the US and UK and was certified gold in eight more.

"Siamese Dream" was the second album recorded by The Smashing Pumpkins. It has managed to chart five different times, reaching tenth position on the US Billboard 200 album charts and fourth position on the UK album charts on its initial release in 1993. From the album "Cherub Rock", Disarm" and "Today" all managed a top ten position on various singles charts. "Rolling Stone" magazine ranked the album at 360 on their "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list.

The band was nominated for a Grammy award for Best Hard Hard Rock Performance with Vocal and the album was nominated too for Best Alternative Music Performance.

"Cry Baby" was first recorded in 1963 by Garnet Mimms and the Enchanters for the album of the same name. It reached top position on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and fourth position on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Janis Joplin went on to record her version in 1970 for her posthumously released album "Pearl". The album topped the US Billboard 200, Norwegian, Dutch, Canadian and Australian charts. The third verse in both songs is spoken, but Joplin's version is the only to mention any cities.

"Mr. Roboto" was recorded in 1983 for the album "Kilroy Was Here" which was the band's eleventh studio album. It went to third position on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and number one on the Canadian chart. The album itself was certified platinum and went to third place on the US Billboard chart. The song is notable for its opening verse consisting completely of Japanese lyrics:

In English that translates to:

"Born in the USA" was recorded for the album of the same name. It reached ninth position on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, eighth on the US Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and fifth on the UK Singles chart. Springsteen said of the song, "It's about a working-class man in the midst of a spiritual crisis, in which man is left lost...It's like he has nothing left to tie him into society any more. He's isolated from the government. Isolated from his family...to the point where nothing makes sense".

The Battle of Khe Sanh took place during the Vietnam War. A number of casualties were suffered, but interestingly enough both sides claimed the victory.

The song was written in protest to the dictator Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia. Foo Fighters and Serj Tankian, former front man of System of a Down, performed the song at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards and they have both covered the song individually.
