Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This song was the perfect song about summer, surfing and sandals. Who sang "All Summer Long"?

Answer: The Beach Boys

"All Summer Long" was the second track on side one of The Beach Boys 1964 album "All Summer Long" which reached number four on the US album chart. It did not chart in the UK.

Another if only here. If only they had released "All Summer Long" as a single it could have given The Beach Boys a number one hit, certainly a top 10 hit. "I Get Around", the first track on side one was released as a single before the album. It was number one for two weeks on the US pop chart in 1964, their first US number one. It reached number seven on the UK chart the same year. Jan & Dean had a number three hit on the US pop chart with "The Little Old Lady (From Pasadena)" in 1964. It did not chart in the UK. Creedence Clearwater Revival had a number eight hit on the US pop chart with "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" in 1971. It reached number 36 on the UK chart the same year.

Creedence Clearwater Revival have never had a number one single on the US pop chart. They have spent eight weeks in total at number two with five different singles. They managed a number one single in the UK when "Bad Moon Rising" spent three weeks at the top in 1969. You guessed it, it went to number two in the US.

It was their first UK single release that was not a love song. In the UK "Paperback Writer" was preceded at number one by "Strangers In The Night" by Frank Sinatra. In the US it was succeeded at number one by the same record but regained the number one spot after one week.

In the '70s he had throat cancer but recovered from that and appears occasionally. He has appeared at some European rockabilly festivals and been inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.

Their fifth and last hit only reached number 41. Heinz Burt the glamour boy bass guitarist of the group left in 1963 and that began the break up of the group.
