Going strictly by Scripture, Lamech was the first polygamist in the Bible. Genesis 4:19 tells of Lamech being married to Adah and Zillah. Scripture goes on to state Adah was the mother of Jabal while Zillah was the mother of Tubal-Cain.

Chapter 4 of Genesis goes on to tell of Lamech being involved in the second documented murder in Scripture. Lamech's father was Methushael.
