Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. LaVeyan Satanism can be considered to be what?

Answer: Atheistic

There are no gods in Satanism.
2. LaVeyan Satanism is a dualistic religion, arguing a cosmic battle between two sides.

Answer: False

It is NOT dualistic. Souls and bodies are indivisible and there is no war between cosmic good and cosmic evil.
3. Which of the following do Satanists not desire for the future?

Answer: For things to return to the old days where people truly believed in magic and witches and the Devil.

Satanists strive to reach the human potential. Which means they want humans to live longer and improve education, science and technology. They don't wish for things to return back to the Dark Ages where people burnt others alive for being slightly odd. As Satanists don't believe in the Devil, I doubt they would be wanting others to believe in the Devil.
4. Which of the following is considered "holy" in Satanism?

Answer: None of these

Satanists generally don't refer to religious terms that imply something they consider illogical like "faith" and "holy". It's more likely that they will describe Satanism as "unholy" on account of its rejection of the irrational aspects of most other religions.

The only thing that Satanism could really accept as "holy" is clarity of thought, as this is what leads us to reach the human potential.
5. Meditation is allowed in LaVeyan Satanism.

Answer: True

It is allowed, meditation is considered a valid path of self-discovery.
6. LaVeyan Satanism has many goals and purposes. Which of these is most likely to be considered one of them?

Answer: To inspire people.

One of Satanism's aims is to inspire people to make new discoveries and make life in general better. This is just one of the reasons Satanism is called Satanism. LaVey said "The reason it's called Satanism is because it's fun, it's accurate and its productive." (Introduction to "The Devil's Notebook")

The name Satanism interests people. It could be one of the reasons that inspired you to take this quiz! Once you have an initial interest in something, especially something that aims to better the self and technology, it inspires you to think about things in a different light and to do something.
7. Satanism could be considered the opposition of religion.

Answer: True

It is true Satanism is more of an un-religion. It opposes many "white light" religions where God is seen to represent all the good that's in the world and opposes all that is bad. It also opposes those that believe in afterlife, as there is only one life that Satanists feel they can be guaranteed of, and that's the one that they are living right now.
8. Which of the following is a Satanic scripture?

Answer: None of these

No, Satanists don't have scriptures. A scripture is something that people follow pretty much to the letter and don't doubt. A key point that Satanism stands for is doubt. As a result Satanists generally don't call any of their books or essays scriptures (including those that were written by LaVey). If someone does call a Satanic writing a scripture it usually, in my experience, is met with a cringe!
9. Anton LaVey founded Satanism. What is Anton LaVey's middle name as it appeared on "The Satanic Bible"?

Answer: Szandor

Anton Szandor LaVey is his name on "The Satanic Bible" and numerous other writings of his;however Howard Stanton Levey was the name on his birth certificate.

Anton interestingly means "Worthy of praise"
Howard means "Guardian of the home" and
Stanton means "Rocky Meadow Town".
10. Satanists wish to convert people to Satanism and thus are willing to take on non-Satanic people and train them up to be "hardcore" Satanists.

Answer: False

Nope, Satanists don't want to train people up to be a Satanist. You basically either are one or aren't one. If you aren't one and want to be one, it's up to you to become one.
