Hitting this key will open a new worksheet called 'Chart1'. The default chart type is a 2-D column chart, although this can be changed if required. Alt-F1 will do the same thing.

Comments (or notes) enable you to leave messages to yourself and others. Possible uses could include- explanations of a complicated formula, providing feedback to another user or reminder notes to yourself. Comments can be hidden and unhidden by right-clicking on the cell and selecting 'show' or 'hide'. If you hover your cursor over the cell, the comment is also viewable.

The correct syntax for this formula is =FV(rate,nepr,pmt,pv,type) where rate is the interest rate per period, nper is the number of payment periods, pmt is the payment made per period (if any), pv is the present value or the initial deposit, and type indicates whether the interest is paid at the beginning or end of the month.
FV stands for Future Value.
=RAND is a function that returns a random number, =LN will return the natural log of a number and =MAX will return the largest number in a selected range.

Select the cell where you want the total, and Excel will attempt to 'guess' which cells you want added.

Usually Excel will read this as a date- in this example, 03-Apr (04-March in USA), but if you type a zero (or any other number), space and THEN 3/4, it will show as a fraction.

Most functions also include an argument, eg, =MAX(C5:C12), will return the maximum value in the cell range C5 to C12. There are, however, several functions that do not require an argument for them to work. An example is =PI(), which will return PI to 15 decimal places.

The Office Assistant can be turned off by right-clicking on the animation, and then selecting 'Hide'.

Answer: Yes

There are several ways to do this, but I would use 'Conditional Formatting'. Select all the cells where you want the volume figures to show, click on Format/Conditional Formatting (Alt o, then alt d) and add the conditions. eg, if your target was 500, and you want to see all volume figures that are less than 400, or greater than 600, set 'Condition one' to, say, red formatting, and 'Condition two' to blue.

The syntax is =Concatenate(a1, "/",b1, " ",c1, " ",d1). The quotation marks are required if spaces are required between each variable. The '/' character can be inserted to make the completed field read (for example) "2/32 Scott St".
