1. Which of the following players stole home a record 7 times in the 1969 season?

Answer: Rod Carew

Carew of the Twins, and Pete Reiser of the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1946, were the first two players to do this. No other player listed had the speed to do this even once.
2. Which of the following pitchers lost 24 games in a season?

Answer: Jack Fisher

Fisher lost 24 games for the Mets in 1964. Ironically Roger Craig, another Met, lost 24 games two years earlier in 1962.
3. Which of the following set a record for 576 consecutive games played at third base?

Answer: Eddie Yost

Yost played 576 consecutive games for Washington, from July 1951 through May 1955 (the most by any third baseman during the 20th century). No other person listed, was an infielder.
4. What team did Nolan Ryan pitch his third no-hitter against in 1974?

Answer: Minnesota

September 28, 1974, he tied Bob Feller's record of 3 by shutting out the Twins 4-0. No other team listed, existed in 1974.
5. Which of the following, set a Major League career record for most hits as a pinch-hitter?

Answer: Manny Mota

Mota hit 150 pinch-hits throughout his great career with the Giants, Pirates, Expos and Dodgers from 1962 to 1980. The others listed were all pitchers.
6. Which of the following catchers led the league with most doubles in a season?

Answer: None listed

Interestingly enough, no catcher has ever led the American or National league in doubles in the 20th century. Ivan Rodriguez hit 47 in 1996, but finished third.
7. Which of the following once set a record for hitting 6 grand slams in a season?

Answer: Don Mattingly

Mattingly hit 6 record grand slams in 1987 with the Yankees. Ironically, those were his only grand slams in his 14 year career.

Answer: Nolan Ryan

Believe it or not it, was the great one who walked 202 in 1974, and 204 in 1977. He was the only pitcher in the entire 20th century to do this. The others listed were not pitchers.
9. What catcher verifies Babe Ruth's pointing, and calling his famous home run shot in the 1932 World Series?

Answer: Gabby Hartnett

Both Gabby and the home plate umpire Roy Van Graflan, had always contended that the Babe did indeed point, and call his shot prior to hitting the famous one. No other catcher listed had played ball yet.
10. Who was the first player to hit 400 home runs, and steal 400 bases, in their career?

Answer: Barry Bonds

Bonds accomplished this amazing milestone in 1998 with the Giants, in his 13th baseball season.
