1. Which of the following former Dodgers had a son play in the Major Leagues also?

Answer: Maury Wills

Maury played most of his career with the Dodgers. He was the first modern-day player to steal 100 bases in a season in 1962. Maury went to four World Series with the Dodgers while winning three. His son was Elliott Taylor "Bump" Wills. Bump played for six seasons, five with the Rangers and retired in 1982. He averaged 33 stolen bases per season.
2. Which Padre player had a brother that also played for the Padres, and also had a son who played in the big leagues?

Answer: Tony Gwynn

Anthony Keith Gwynn Jr. began his career with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2006. Brother Chris Gwynn played mostly for the Dodgers during his 10 seasons, and played with Tony Sr. on the 1996 Padres.
3. This Yankee Hall of Fame great had a son who later played with the Yankees, and he managed him with the team also. Who was it?

Answer: Yogi Berra

Son Dale was primarily a shortstop, and played most of his 11 seasons with the Pirates. He was rostered by the Yankees in 1985 and 1986. Yogi was the manager of the 1985 Yankees, but was fired after only 16 games into the season by owner George Steinbrenner. Dale led the NL in 1983 with 19 intentional walks, the only category that he led a league in.
4. This Philadelphia Phillie had two sons play Major League baseball. Who was it?

Answer: Bob Boone

Father Bob was a catcher and played 10 seasons with the Phillies, seven with the Angels and two with the Royals. Bret was the older of the two sons and played for 14 seasons retiring in 2005. The younger son Aaron was in his 10th season in 2007 and was a Washington National in 2008. Bob Boone's father also played Major League baseball.

He was Ray Boone, who played for 13 seasons and retired in 1960. What a true baseball family.
5. Which Pittsburgh Pirate pitcher later watched his son play in a Pirate uniform?

Answer: Vernon Law

Son Vance was a 1980 rookie Pirate infielder, and was traded to the White Sox in 1982. In 11 seasons, Vance pitched in seven games also, but had no-decisions in all them. Father Vern spent his entire 16 seasons with the Pirates and retired in 1967. He won the Cy Young Award in 1960.
6. Which Boston Red Sox manager also had his father play in the big leagues?

Answer: Terry Francona

2008 Red Sox manager Terry Francona is the son of Tito Francona. Tito played for 15 seasons from 1956-1970 for a variety of teams, and Terry played from 1981-1990. Neither Francona ever saw a World Series as a player.
7. Which former Braves player was the father of another Major League player?

Answer: Felipe Alou

Felipe was the brother of Jesus and Matty, and his son was Moises who began his career with the Pirates in 1990. Moises was runner-up for the Rookie of the Year Award to Eric Karros of the Dodgers. He was the left fielder for the Cubs in 2003 when the Steve Bartman incident occurred.

In July 2008, and at the age of 42 as a Met, Moises had a major hamstring injury which jeopardized his career.
8. Which Minnesota Twins catcher and father also had a son who played catcher in the big leagues?

Answer: Randy Hundley

Randy was a Minnesota Twin for only one season in 1974. Randy was a career catcher of 14 seasons. He retired in 1977. His son Todd was also a catcher for 14 seasons with the Mets, Dodgers, and Cubs. Neither father or son ever appeared in a World Series game.
9. Which career Yankee pitcher had two sons play in the Major Leagues?

Answer: Mel Stottlemyre

The others were not career Yankees. Mel Sr. pitched for the Yankees from 1964-1972. Son Mel played only one season with the Royals in 1990. Mel's younger son Todd played for 14 seasons and retired in 2002. All three Stottlemyres were pitchers.
10. Which former Seattle Mariner had a father who played with the Kansas City Athletics in the 1960s?

Answer: Danny Tartabull

Danny played for 14 seasons and retired in 1997. He began his career with the Mariners in 1984. Father Jose played seven of his nine seasons with the Athletics, and the other two with the Boston Red Sox. Both played most of their careers in the outfield.
