Ryan did this 6 times in his career, only once with the Texas Rangers in 1989. The Angel years were 1972, 73, 74, 76, and 77. In 1973 he struck out a record 383 batters.
2. Which of the following players went 437 consecutive at-bats without striking out?

Answer: Joe Sewell

Sewell of the Cleveland Indians in 1929 did this over 115 games. He struck out only 4 times that season in 578 at-bats. No player has ever come close to this record except for Sewell himself.
3. When Jim Thome broke the record for most career walks as a Cleveland Indian, what Indian's record did he break?

Answer: Tris Speaker

Speaker had a career total of 857 walks as an Indian. At closing of the 2001 season, Thome had accumulated 875.
