Answer: Eisenhower Trophy

The Eisenhower Trophy was first contested in 1958, and was named after the U.S. President at the time, Dwight D. Eisenhower. The competition is held every second year, with the USA winning it a record 11 times during the 20th century (11 of the 22 tournaments held).
2. In what is regarded as one of the greatest soccer matches ever played, Real Madrid won the 1960 European Cup Final with a 7-3 victory over which team?

Answer: Eintracht Frankfurt

Ferenc Puskas scored four times, with Alfredo Di Stefano grabbing a hat-trick, as Real won their fifth successive European crown, at Hampden Park in Glasgow. Eintracht, the champions of West Germany, actually took the lead in the 18th mionute of the game before eventually being swept aside by the Spanish masters. From 1-0 the scoreline became 1-7 before Eintracht scored again.
3. The "Big Easy" is the nickname of which golfer whose first and last names both begin with E?

Answer: Ernie Els

Born in South Africa in 1969, Els turned pro in 1989. He won the US Open in both 1994 and 1997, then captured the British Open in 2002, winning a four-man play-off at Muirfield.

Answer: Edinburgh

Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, was the first city to host the games twice. Edmonton, Canada, was the host city in 1978. Neither Enugu (Nigeria) nor East London (South Africa) hosted the games in the 1970s or 1980s.

Epee is the French name for a sword. The heaviest of the three fencing weapons, it is the only one which can used to strike any part of the opponent's body.

Answer: Eastern Kentucky

The EKU Colonels are members of the Ohio Valley Conference. The school's gridiron team won their 20th conference title in 2008, and won the Division 1-AA National Championship in both 1979 and 1982.
East Carolina are nicknamed Pirates, Eastern Illinois are known as Panthers, and Eastern Michigan are Eagles.
7. Which NFL quarterback appeared in five Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos in the 1980s/90s?

Answer: John Elway

Elway was drafted first overall out of Stanford by the Baltimore Colts in 1983, but was traded to the Broncos without ever playing a game for the Maryland team. He led Denver to the Super Bowl on five occasions, losing the first three. In Super Bowl XXXII, they defeated the Green Bay Packers 31-24, then, 12 months later, Elway was MVP of the big game as the Broncos defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-19.
8. Which Rugby Union player of the 1960s/70s was capped 53 times for Wales at the scrum half position, as well as making 10 appearances for the British & Irish Lions?

Answer: Gareth Edwards

Edwards, who spent his entire club career with Cardiff, made his Welsh debut in 1967 aged 19. The following season he became the youngest-ever captain of Wales, in a game against Scotland. In the intervening years, he has been named the "greatest player of all time" by various pundits and publications.
9. Which one of these teams is a famous name in Australian Rules Football?

Answer: Essendon Bombers

Essendon Bombers are an Aussie Rules club founded in Melbourne in 1871. They were one of the most successful clubs in the VFL/AFL during the 20th century, winning their 16th premiership in 2000.
Eastern Suburbs is the former name of the Rugby League team kwhich became the Sydney Roosters. Eastwood Woods is a Rugby Union team from Sydney. Easts Tigers is a Rugby Union team from Brisbane.
10. Dale Earnhardt, Sr. was tragically killed during the last lap of the Daytona 500 in 2001.

Answer: True

Dale Earnhardt Sr made his NASCAR debut in 1975. Between 1979 and 2000, he won 76 races. He was Winston Cup Series Champion seven times between 1980 and 1994.
At the 2001 Daytona 500, Earnhardt's car was involved in a collision with Ken Schrader whilst travelling at around 150 mph, and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly afterwards.
