1. Which one of these baseball pitchers was nicknamed "Catfish"?

Answer: James Hunter

Hunter made his MLB debut with the Kansas City Athletics in 1965, and followed the team to Oakland in 1968. He won three World Series titles with the A's in the early 1970s, winning four WS games and losing none in the process. He moved to the New York Yankees in time for the 1975 season, winning two further World Series titles in 1977 and 1978.

The "Catfish" moniker was given to him by Kansas City owner Charles Finley.
2. Which US college has sports teams nicknamed "Rainbow Warriors"?

Answer: Hawaii

Based in Honolulu, the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are a Division 1 NCAA school, and members of the Western Athletic Conference. In 2007, the school's football team won their first-ever outright Conference title, before going on to lose to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
3. In the mid-1920s, which soccer club became the first to win the championship of England in three successive seasons?

Answer: Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town were a major power in English football between the two world wars. Under the managership of the legendary Herbert Chapman, who would go on to even greater fame at Arsenal, "The Terriers" defeated Preston North End in the 1922 FA Cup Final.

After winning two league titles, in 1924 and 25, Chapman moved south to Arsenal, but his successor, Cecil Potter, helped them to complete the hat-trick in the 1925/26 season.
4. What is the nickname of the Hawthorn Aussie Rules team?

Answer: Hawks

Founded in Melbourne in 1902, Hawthorn were originally nicknamed the "Mayblooms". They enjoyed little success before the war, but a change of nickname to "Hawks" in 1942 saw an upsurge in their fortunes. They won their first Grand Final in 1961, and would add another nine titles by 2008. Playing in brown and gold guernseys, Hawthorn play home games at Aurora Stadium.
5. Which one of these ice hockey Hall of Famers is nicknamed "Mr Hockey"?

Answer: Gordie Howe

Born in Floral, Saskatchewan, in 1928, Howe made his NHL debut with the Detroit Red Wings in 1946. In 25 seasons with the Motor City team, Howe would score 786 regular season goals, and won four Stanley Cup titles. He made a comeback to the sport in 1973 with the Houston Aeros of the World Hockey Association, and would play one final NHL season in 1979-80 with the Hartford Whalers.
6. Which golfer won two successive British Open titles in 2007 and 2008?

Answer: Padraig Harrington

Harrington, from Dublin, Ireland, defeated Sergio Garcia in a playoff to win the 2007 Open at Carnoustie. The following year, at Royal Birkdale, he successfully defended his title with a four-shot victory over Ian Poulter. He added a third Major a few weeks later with victory in the US PGA Championship at Oakland Hills.
7. Which one of these American Football Hall of Famers won four Super Bowl rings with the Pittsburgh Steelers?

Answer: Franco Harris

Harris, a running back, was drafted by the Steelers out of Penn State in 1972. Over the next 12 seasons in Pittsburgh, he rushed for nearly 12,000 yards and 91 touchdowns in the regular season. He was part of the Steelers team which won Super Bowls IX, X, XIII and XIV. He finished his pro career with the Seattle Seahawks in 1984.
8. Which one of these women made their name in a sport other than ice skating?

Answer: Mia Hamm

Hamm was a soccer player, who scored 158 goals in 275 international appearances for the USA. Hamill, Heiss, and Henie all won Olympic gold medals in figure skating.
9. In 1997, who became the youngest women's singles champion at Wimbledon?

Answer: Martina Hingis

Hingis, from Switzerland, was aged 16 years and 9 months when she defeated Jana Novotna in the final of Wimbledon. She would win three Australian Opens and one US Open between 1997 and 1999, but failed to win any more Grand Slam titles.
10. Which one of these boxers was nicknamed "Marvelous"?

Answer: Marvin Hagler

Hagler from Newark, New Jersey, won the WBA and WBC World Middleweight titles in 1980, defeating Alan Minter in London. He would remain undefeated over the next seven years until Sugar Ray Leonard won a split-decision over him in Las Vegas. This would prove to be Hagler's last pro bout, as he retired to pursue a new career in acting.
