The new 'Trent End' stand is the latest section of the stadium to be redeveloped. The Trent End was the most recent stand to be rebuilt in 1996 in time for Euro' 96 the European Championships. The new stand, such a prominent landmark by the River Trent, had a capacity of 7,500 to take the ground's capacity to 30,602.

Arguably the most popular player ever to wear a Nottingham Forest shirt, the former England skipper was a cult figure at The City Ground. His fearless and inspirational play from left back led to him being dubbed 'Psycho' by Forest fans and in addition to his all-round play he was the scorer of many stunning goals, particularly from free-kicks.

Previously known as the Exec' Stand, The renamed Brian Clough Stand was built in 1980 at a cost of just 2M pounds largely from proceeds of the unforgettable era in which Forest brought the European Cup back to Nottingham in 1979 and 1980. Under Clough's reign Forest had taken the English domestic game and the European scene by storm and money raised from those outstanding successes was invested in a stand that had a capacity of 10,000.

The Stand also incorporated 36 executive boxes and large dining area which was to be the focus of the club's corporate hospitality arrangements.

An outstanding defender with amazing recovery powers and pace that took him into overdrive, he was very rarely beaten and was a massive favourite before moving on from Forest in 1991 to Sampdoria in Italy. Two years later he moved back to England with Sheffield Wednesday and embarked on another long career at Hillsborough.
