Marcia Cross debuted, in this episode, as Kimberly Shaw. Kimberly was an intern, at Wilshire Memorial Hospital, and proved to be one of the show's most popular characters. She was considered the ultimate villainess, of the show, and did many bad deeds, such as blow up the apartment complex, run down Michael Mancini and framed Jane and Sydney for the crime, nearly killed Peter while she had him falsely committed to a mental hospital, and much more. When the video ended, Michael and Jane announced to everyone that she was going to get an ultrasound of the baby. Matt asked if they wanted to find out the sex of the baby but Jane said they would find that out when she delivered the baby.

Allison was taking a shower and Billy told her he would be going, to the laundry room, to do their laundry. When Billy got, to the laundry room, he saw Jake there and he asked Jake for some change. Jake said he would trade him some change for some soap and Billy agreed to the deal. Billy grabbed one of Allison's bras and Jake joked with Billy and asked him if the bra was his.

Michael went to work and met a new intern, Kimberly Shaw, and she pointed him to the man who was in charge of the intern doctors. Michael spoke, to the head, and asked him if he could change his work schedule since Michael was scheduled to be in surgery when Jane had her ultrasound. Michael wanted his schedule changed so he could attend the ultrasound but his boss refused to do it.

Jane went to the hospital, to get her ultrasound, and Matt was there and we learned that he drove her to the ultrasound appointment. Michael saw both of them and he told Jane he tried to get out of his scheduled surgery to be at the ultrasound but his boss would not change his schedule. Jane told Michael she understood and they would watch a video, of the ultrasound, that night. Michael left, to go to the surgery, and he told Matt to keep an eye on Jane.

Collins, born on July 25th, 1937 in London, England portrayed Dr. Fisher in this episode. In this episode, Dr. Fisher broke the bad news, to Jane, that she had miscarried. This was the only appearance that Collins made in the series. Collins also guest starred on the TV shows, "ER", "Ally McBeal", and "The Practice." He also had roles in the films, "Instinct", "Evan Almighty", and "Executive Decision."

Matt was outside his apartment and he told Billy, Allison, Rhonda, and Sandy about Jane's sonogram and how it showed that the baby did not have a heart beat and she miscarried. Jane and Michael arrived, at the apartment complex, and Allison apologized for their loss and asked them if they needed anything. Rhonda offered to make them tea and Sandy jumped in and told Rhonda that it was best to just give them some time alone. Michael and Jane agreed that tea sounded like a good idea but they needed space.
