Sophia caught Castle and Kate getting intimate so she fired him as her private investigator because she felt he was not doing enough on locating her purse. Castle showed Sophia his research into the case and it showed that Anahita left Sophia's purse in a limo. Sophia was very impressed with Castle's private investigation skills.

Castle posed as Kevin Ryan in order to locate the limo which had Sophia's purse. Someone by the name of Harlan Mathis held him at gunpoint. He stuffed Castle into the back of the limo and tried to get Castle to tell him what he knew about Anahita's murder. However, Kevin and Javier rescued Castle before he could tell Harlan anything.

The USB drive which Layla gave to Anahita was to a Swiss bank account that had a lot of money in it to invest in a new television show. Francisco Herrera, the person who oversaw the telenovela Anahita starred on, hated this idea. This caused him to become really angry and, as a result, kill Anahita.
