Kate got word early on in the episode that someone named Anson Klamp got a huge promotion to be a Captain at a local law enforcement agency. Castle inquired as to who Anson Klamp was so she said they went through the police academy together. Kate wished she was like Anson and in more of a leadership type role at this point in her career.

According to a witness, Henry argued with someone at the restaurant since this person refused to pay for lunch.

Chief Inspector Zhang said that they could find the person who Henry argued with by checking everyone who used the Wi-Fi service at the restaurant. After Zhang looked at everyone's cell phones who utilized Wi-Fi, she noted one person bore a resemblance to the suspect: Michael Glassman. They were shocked to hear that Michael Glassman was an FBI Agent.

They managed to get a license plate off the SUV and it traced to Billy Hicks. Zhang mentioned that Hicks got Henry on a life of crime and was the prime reason for Henry spending time in prison.

Chief Inspector Zhang went to Billy Hicks' establishment and fought with him. Kate arrived to ensure Zhang did not do too much damage to Billy. When questioning Billy, he claimed that Henry went to him to get cocaine for a friend. Chief Inspector Zhang had a hard time believing that Henry would at that point get into drug dealing.
