8.20 "Much Ado About Murder" Trivia Quiz

The episode began in an auditorium with someone rehearsing a scene for a play. As the first line he said was ""to be or not to be...that is the question", it was clear that he was rehearsing for "Hamlet". He then heard a strange noise and wound up dead a short while later.

Castle and Kate were at the loft and Castle started to talk about their date night. He mentioned a recent date they had where he took her to see "Hamilton" on Broadway. Just then, Kate got a call about a murder.

Answer: Zane Cannon

The team went to the crime scene and it was stated that the victim died between 8:00 and 11:00 p.m. They then learned that the victim was Zane Cannon and he started in Hollywood films. Castle stated it was suggested that Zane should not be in a Shakespeare production.

The team spoke with someone at the theater who told them that Zane came there often to rehearse for "Hamlet' and do his best to show that he should be in the play. When they asked if anyone had problems with Zane, she stated that he had a habit of sleeping with his leading ladies. She said that one of the ladies was upset when Zane dumped her and she busted his car up in revenge.

Naomi was the one who busted up Zane's car so she had motive to kill him since he dumped her so the team went to talk with Naomi. She assured them that she did not kill Zane. When confronted about vandalizing his car, she claimed to have been drunk when she did it.

Answer: Martha

Kevin alerted the team about a suite which Zane rented and that he took a limousine to get there. When they arrived, they saw someone sleeping in his bed and were surprised to see Martha there. Martha said she was not sleeping with Zane but rather was his acting coach. She mentioned that Zane had some demons.

Answer: Johnny Toro

The team found out that Zane went to Sing Sing just before his murder to pick up Johnny Toro, who had been in there for many years due to a breaking and entering conviction. It was suspected that Zane was also part of the breaking and entering job but, as the prosecutor only had evidence on Toro, Zane went free. Toro admitted to the team that he was angry about Zane going on to have a big movie career while he rotted in prison.

Jake was behind Kevin and Javier in one scene as the two got a hot dog and he brought up that he knew Zane. At the precinct, Jake showed his footage to the team and said he filmed him the day he died. On his camcorder was an argument that Zane had with someone and, once Zane realized he was being filmed, went beserk.

Answer: He owed the IRS a lot of money

When the team spoke with Toro, Toro stated that Zane had money woes so they wondered why this was the case since he had $10 million in his bank account. Toro stated that he owed the IRS $15 million in back taxes. He said that there was a money deal Zane was involved in where he could get a lot of money. The team wondered if this could help them track Zane's killer.

Answer: Jorge Zamacona

Castle was abducted by Jorge Zamacona and his men and Jorge told Castle that he had a connection to Zane. He believed that Zane was not a good actor but he offered to help him out. He told Zane that, if he dropped a film called "Safe Word" and perform in "Hamlet" on Broadway and got good reviews, he would allow Zane to play him in a film.

He wanted Castle to write the script for his life story and, if Castle declined, he would kill him.
