Hayley and Alexis were at Castle's private investigation office when an eerie man came in with an ax. He said something to them in Latin and started to come at the women with an ax. Hayley got a gun and, as she was about to shoot him, he fell to the floor and died.

The team was at Castle's office investigating and Lanie mentioned that the man was stabbed in his left side. They were unable to get identification on the guy because he had no wallet, and the fingerprint machine was down due to inclement weather. Based off of information provided, Kate said he likely was stabbed between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m.

The team saw a tag on the victim's hand and it read that he was a patient at Peakmore, which Castle said was a facility for the criminally insane. They went to speak with a psychiatrist there and he said that the victim had been a patient for 20 years.

He claimed that years ago the patient broke into a family's home and attempted to murder them. The psychiatrist stated that the victim thought he was on a mission from God to rid the world of evil.

Lanie told the team that she saw something disturbing at the morgue so she asked them all to come down. They saw that his body had ink everywhere so they wondered if it could mean anything. Lanie claimed that the victim, Gabriel, was killed after being stabbed by a claw.

Answer: Dave Holmby

At Peakmore, the psychiatrist mentioned that Gabriel stole Dave Holmby's card in order to get out of the facility. The team found Dave and brought him in for questioning. During the questioning, Dave assured the team that he did not kill Gabriel. Dave lamented that he would likely be out of a job.

Midway through the show, Alexis contacted her father because she learned that Gabriel had worked for a private investigator 20 years ago. The private investigator was Noah Kramer and he used to work out of the same building where Castle's private investigator office was located. Noah died years earlier, after he was impaled by a pipe at a construction office.

Gabriel Shaw tried to kill the Crowne family, which consisted of three members, and the young boy in that family was Victor Crowne. Victor was orphaned years earlier, when his parents died in a skiing accident and he inherited billions as a result. Victor was about to inherit his family's business empire. Castle felt that Gabriel escaped to try and come back and finish the job, since he believed Victor was the Antichrist.

Castle, Kevin and Javier went to speak with Victor and they alerted him that Gabriel Shaw was murdered. Victor stated he would not shed a tear due to what Gabriel tried to do to him and his parents. He did state that he was planning to launch an environmental based initiative on his 30th birthday.

When questioned about his whereabouts during Gabriel's murder, Victor stated that he was at his office.

Answer: Oscar Von Eckland

Lanie called the team and told them that the substance on Gabriel's body was a mixture of various ingredients. When Castle mentioned this to Alexis and Hayley, Hayley said that the ingredients Castle mentioned made her recall something. She got a document out which showed that Oscar Von Eckland shipped the mixture to Gabriel shortly before his murder.

Castle conducted an online search on ways to kill the Antichrist so he saw an article that mentioned something called the Angel Dagger. Per that article, that special weapon would be the one who would permanently subdue the Antichrist. Castle came upon the Angel Dagger while searching a place one night.
