As Tommy lets them in, Oliver hands him a bag and says happy birthday. As Tommy takes it, he says it feels like a Chateauneuf-du-pape, to which Oliver says it's going to taste like also.

The picture is actually of a young Sara and Detective Lance standing by a cage housing a canary. The show threw in a little bit of foreshadowing in this scene as the bird just happens to be a black canary. Laurel says she doesn't even know why they even got Sara the bird because it chirped incessantly.

Tommy replies to Oliver by saying Amen. The knock on the door was actually Malcolm Merlyn. He comes in and tells Tommy he's been trying to reach him. Malcolm says happy birthday and gives Tommy a present before asking Tommy to meet him in the hallway for a private discussion.

Answer: Deadshot

Chyna White approaches Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot in his apartment in Blüdhaven. He tells her that he is retired. Chyna won't take no for an answer and tells Floyd that no one is as good as him. Floyd shows her his damaged eye, which took an arrow from Oliver earlier in the season, and tells her that his vision isn't what it used to be. Chyna shows him a special eye piece and tells him it will make his vision even better than it was before.

Answer: Megan

Felicity said Guillermo Barreras must have been paranoid because he had cobalt level encryption on his phone. As she rambles on, Oliver becomes impatient and interrupts her to ask if she's been able to pull anything at all off the phone. Felicity gives Oliver the last number he called which was to the Jade Dragon restaurant. Diggle says the restaurant is just a front for the Chinese mafia.

Answer: He squirts hot sauce in the man's eyes

Oliver was at the restaurant with Tommy under the pretense that he wanted to buy him a proper birthday meal after Malcolm put a damper on the festivities at Laurel's the previous night. As they eat, Oliver notices a suspicious man go into the back room. Oliver excuses himself from Tommy, saying he needs to use the bathroom, but follows the suspicious man into the back room. Oliver hits the lights, then knocks out the big man, and then sprays hot sauce into the smaller man's eyes so he can interrogate him without being identified.

Answer: Arabic

Diggle doesn't say when or how he learned Arabic, but we do already know he served in the military for 5 years and was stationed in Afghanistan, among other places. Felicity and Diggle look at the data she has discovered that reveals a shocking detail. Diggle then goes upstairs to interrupt Oliver's date with McKenna to break the news that Barrera's target was to be Malcolm Merlyn.

Answer: A panic room

As they run, Tommy asks Malcolm why he is being targeted, to which Malcolm says he doesn't know. They reach an elevator when Tommy says he's not sure they should be going upstairs since they are unarmed and have no security, to which Malcolm explains he has a panic room and if they can just reach it, they'll be fine.

Answer: Did he kick Diggle's dog?

Oliver tells her no and explains that Lawton killed Andy. Diggle had told Oliver that Malcolm was at the hospital and was expected to recover and mentions that it was a good thing he was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time. Oliver explains that Malcolm wasn't hospitalized because of the bullet but because of the curare poison on the bullet. Knowing that the curare poisoned bullets means Deadshot is still alive, Diggle walks away upset.

This prompts Felicity to ask if Lawton kicked his dog or something.

Answer: "Were you ever going to tell me?"

When Malcolm was shot, Oliver needed Tommy to trust him in order to help save Malcolm's life. In order to do that, Oliver chose to reveal to Tommy that he was the Arrow. As shocked as Tommy was, they managed to give Malcolm a quick blood transfusion to give him time for the paramedics to get him to a hospital.

In the hallway at the hospital later, when Tommy asks if Oliver was ever going to tell him he was the Arrow, Oliver tells him no. Tommy walks away.
