Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Scott McCall was a normal high schooler, but everything changed when he was bitten by a werewolf. Why was he in the woods on the night that he was attacked?

Answer: searching for a dead body

Scott's best friend, Stiles Stilinski, has a habit of being right in the middle of trouble, either because of or in spite of his father's job as the sheriff of Beacon Hills. Having heard the call about half of a body being found in the woods, he dragged Scott out to look for the other half.

Stiles was quickly caught by the police, who were also looking for the body, and Scott was left to fend for himself. He showed Stiles the bandaged bite the next day and insisted he was bitten by a wolf, though Stiles says there are none in California. Later that night, the bite had mysteriously healed.
2. Scott first discovered something strange was going on when he was able to eavesdrop on a phone conversation taking place outside. Allison Argent, a new student who immediately caught Scott's eye, told her mother she'd forgotten which item that Scott was happy to lend her?

Answer: a pen

Allison was pleased and puzzled when Scott presented her with a pen, since she hadn't mentioned it since arriving in the classroom. Scott later used his new superhearing to listen in on a conversation between Allison and two other students, Lydia and Jackson.

He continued to make a good impression on her with his new skills by being a truly unstoppable goalie at lacrosse practice and soothing and caring for a dog that she hit with her car. When he suggested going out on a date, she quickly accepted.
3. Scott wasn't the only one in town dealing with werewolf problems. Who knew the least about werewolves by the end of the season?

Answer: Mrs. McCall

Though she did accept a date with the alpha werewolf, Mrs. McCall remained blissfully ignorant of any supernatural activity in Beacon Hills. Allison, however, discovered that her father and aunt were both werewolf hunters and that Scott was one of their targets! Derek Hale is a werewolf like Scott, though he was born that way instead of bitten. Jackson found out over the course of the season about both werewolves and werewolf hunters.

He desperately wanted the bite so he could return to his previous state of being better, faster, and stronger than Scott at lacrosse.
4. Scott was willing to do anything to spend time with Allison, including a dreaded double date with Lydia and Jackson. The four of them headed for the lanes to take part in what activity that Scott insisted he's great at?

Answer: bowling

Stiles was very quick to point out that Scott is a terrible bowler and Scott himself admitted that he hadn't bowled since a birthday party when he was eight years old. He threw several gutter balls before a very flirty Allison managed to raise his heart rate, activating his keen werewolf senses. Jackson became very suspicious when Scott started suddenly bowling strikes.

After the date, Scott walked Allison home and they shared a kiss outside of her house. Chris, her werewolf hunter father, watched unhappily from the window.
5. The fourth episode of the first season shared the name of the object that was currently threatening Derek Hale's life and limb. What nearly caused him to lose an arm?

Answer: Magic Bullet

The bullet used by Allison's aunt, Kate Argent, contained Nordic Blue Monkshood, a type of wolfsbane. After being shot, Derek developed many symptoms including pallor, inability to control his powers, vomiting, and an even grumpier mood than usual. Without another bullet to cure himself with, his last chance at living was having Stiles cut off his arm. Luckily for both of them, Scott showed up at the last minute.

The Argents are extremely skilled hunters and follow a code of conduct. Kate, however, has been known to break the code on several occasions. It was she who set the fire that killed most of Derek's family.
6. Stiles was repeatedly threatened with an unconventional weapon in the McCall household. After the second time, he questioned if they even take part in which sport?

Answer: baseball

Scott wielded the bat in the first episode, "Wolf Moon", when he heard a loud noise on the porch. His mother, Melissa, also prepared to take a swing when she realized someone was climbing in through her son's window at night. Stiles was the culprit both times. Later, he made a copy of their house key so he could just let himself in.
7. Allison may be Scott's first love, but he got into big trouble after sharing a liplock with which character?

Answer: Lydia Martin

Scott was supposed to be getting Lydia alone to figure out if she was interested in Stiles, who has had a crush on her since the third grade. Clearly, everything didn't go as planned (blame the full moon)! Stiles was both furious and hurt that his best friend would betray him.
8. All of the 'animal attacks' around town were being blamed on mountain lions, but Scott knew better. Who did he never suspect of any of the attacks?

Answer: Mr. Harris

When the attack on the bus driver took place, Scott first suspected himself. After returning to the bus to regain some of his memories from the night of the attack, he remembered that another werewolf was present and was happy to blame Derek, who he believed bit him and made him a werewolf. After a confrontation and a fairly one-sided fight, Derek told Scott that there was another, more powerful werewolf called an alpha who must be carrying out the attacks. The rest of the season focused on identifying and stopping the alpha.

Mr. Harris is Scott's chemistry teacher and certainly not a werewolf, though he was involved with the fire that ended the lives of Derek's family. He explained to Kate how one could commit arson and get away with it.
9. Family issues seemed to be a favored theme in the show. Which character still lived with both of his/her birth parents, despite some clear family problems with secrecy?

Answer: Allison Argent

Lydia's parents are divorced and when asked which she wanted to live with, she chose her mother. Stiles's mother passed away sometime prior to the show and isn't mentioned often, though Stiles admitted to having panic attacks after her death. Jackson lived with both of his adoptive parents, the Whittemores. Allison was actually the only main character to live with both of her birth parents, as Scott's parents are divorced.
10. Which character, who ran the gamut from being entirely non-responsive and hospitalized to offering fashion advice, turned out to be the Alpha werewolf terrorizing Beacon Hills?

Answer: Peter Hale

Peter, Derek's uncle, was severely burned in the fire that killed most of Derek's family. However, he survived and spent several years in the care facility where Scott's mother worked. After fully recovering, he proceeded to seek revenge for the fire while taking time out to do such things as ask Mrs. McCall on a date, offer to turn Stiles into a werewolf, and help Allison pick a suitable dress for the winter formal. What a friendly guy! He eventually paid for his murderous ways, though not until after he'd carried out his vengeance on everyone involved with the fire, including Kate Argent.
