After returning from London, Mac was called to the Statue of Liberty where he and the team found a dead security guard. At first the team suspected vandalism, but Stella found evidence of sexual activity on the torch. Stella asked Mac who would do something like that on the Statue of Liberty. Mac replied that, "Nothing is sacred anymore."

Answer: A stalker is calling him at 3:33 am every morning, but does not answer when Mac picks up the phone.

Stella called the hotel in London and discovered Mac had checked out early. When Mac told her he was just jet lagged from the trip, Stella questioned it. Mac admitted that someone had called him at 3:33 am every morning but did not respond when Mac answered the phone. Mac cut his trip short because he could not get rest.

Answer: "Two more will die."

While the CSI team is inspecting the Statue of Liberty, they find a bloody print on the viewfinder. They notice the view finder is held in place with wire. When Mac examines the view, he sees a man on a rooftop, who appears to be watching. Mac realizes when the man does not move, he is dead. They locate the dead man and find that he is unusually orange. Upon inspection they also find a bloody message on the man's chest that says "Two more will die."

Answer: a piece of braille-like metal

Sid shares with Stella the metal lodged in the victim's throat. Stella believes it may contain a clue or message, but when she examines it closer she concludes that the braille-like metal is not really braille at all because the bumps do not have the right sequence. Adam and another lab tech later find that the metal is a piece from a music box, with a special song that was written by Mozart when he was five years old. Adam is able to track down the music box and find a name.

The other lab tech also finds that the wire at the Statue of Liberty crime scene belongs to the "A" key of a European grand piano.

Answer: The recreated blood spatter aligned with the security guard standing in front of the murdered victim who had their throat slashed from behind.

While recreating the blood spatter by using a mannequin dummy, Mac discovers that the blood pattern was caused by the spatter being deflected off an officer's badge. The missing security guard was standing in front of the woman when she was murdered, not behind as the wound caused by the killer indicated. Mac concludes that the missing security guard was trying to save her when the killer slashed her throat in front of him.

Answer: a 911 emergency call

Mac and Danny respond to the 911 call but at first find no evidence of the victim in the music hall where the call was made. Danny begins to think it's a decoy and Mac calls Stella. Stella tells Mac they are in the right place because she can hear Mac and Danny on the 911 call.

They find the victim in one of the orchestra drums. The killer escapes and Mac later tells Stella that the victim dies in the Emergency room. The killer had cut the victim's tongue out.

Answer: the killer of another unsolved crime

While the CSI team are keeping an eye on the musician they notice a suspicious man in the crowd. The man runs and the CSI team chases him, thinking he is their killer. However when they arrest him they discover he is not the man they had intended on finding. He is the murderer of a different unsolved crime.

Answer: She had traded silence with the killer to save her own life.

Ms. Kent had seen the killer murdering her friend. He almost killed her but she promised him she would be silent and he let her go. He continued to follow her everywhere she moved to make sure she stayed quiet.

Answer: The man wouldn't have threatened the victims into telling information about a crime and giving it to the police.

Mac explains to Flack that the murderer of the four victims had threatened his victims, trying to get information about an unsolved crime. The killer had given each piece of evidence to the police. The man they have in custody confessed to the unsolved murder the other victims witnessed. Mac asked Flack why the man would threaten people into giving evidence to the police about a crime that he already knew he had committed.

Answer: They had witnessed the unsolved murder of someone he loved and were silent.

Stella realizes that Morton is the killer when she plays the piano and finds the "A" key silent. (She remembers that the lab tech said the wire from their crime scene belonged to an "A" key) She pulls her gun out and chases Morton to the basement. Morton explains that his victims knew who murdered a woman he loved and were silent when they were questioned.

He murdered them to bring attention to solving her case. Before she arrests him, Morton screams at Stella, "Can You Hear Me Now?" Stella replies, "Loud and clear."
