Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What connects Boone to Sawyer?

Answer: Sawyer passed Boone in an Australian police station

In "Hearts and Minds", Boone follows Shannon to Australia to rescue her out of her relationship with Bryan. He tries to file charges against Bryan, and while he is in the police station, Sawyer can be seen being brought into the station in the background.
2. What is the connection between Jack and Shannon?

Answer: Jack's wife, Sarah, was in an accident with Shannon's father, Adam

In "Man of Science, Man of Faith", we see how Jack met his then-future wife, Sarah: she was in a car accident with Adam Rutherford, Shannon's father. Jack decided to concentrate on Sarah and as a result, Adam died.
In "Abandoned", six episodes later, we can see Jack running through the hospital corridor while Shannon and her stepmother are waiting for a doctor to tell them what happened to Adam.
3. What connects Locke to Sayid?

Answer: Locke inspects a house that Nadia, Sayid's unrequited love, plans to buy

We meet Nadia in "Solitary", where we learn that she was Sayid's childhood friend and long lost love. Sayid helps her escape from prison and spends the next seven years looking for her, coming to believe she is dead. However, in "Lockdown", we see Locke inspecting a house for her.
4. Here may be a tougher one- what is the connection between Claire and Desmond?

Answer: a painting by her ex-boyfriend Thomas is hanging in the office of Penelope's father, Charles Widmore

In "Raised By Another", Claire and Thomas are seen in their apartment, and Thomas' painting hangs on the wall. The same painting (or perhaps a print of it) can be seen in Charles Widmore's office in "Flashes Before Your Eyes". Charles Widmore is the father of Desmond's girlfriend Penelope.
5. Here's a direct connection for a change. Which location connects Libby to Hurley?

Answer: Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute

We see the institute first in "Numbers", where we learn that Hurley was admitted to Santa Rosa for depression. Later, in the episode "Dave", we see that Libby was in the same institute at the same time as Hurley.
In "Deus Ex Machina", we also find out that Locke's mother was committed to the facility several times for schizophrenia.
6. Jack is connected to a number of characters through his father, Christian. Which of the following is NOT one of them?

Answer: Rose

Christian is Claire's father, as we find out it "Par Avion", making her and Jack half-siblings.
Ana Lucia traveled to Australia together with Christian ("Two For The Road"); she also had a brief encounter with Jack at the airport bar in "Exodus: Part 1".
Sawyer and Christian ended up having drinks together in a cocktail bar in Sydney ("Outlaws").
There is no connection between Rose and Jack, at least none that we are aware of.
7. Both Kate's parents (that is, Sam Austen and Diane) connect her to another "LOST" character, respectively.

Answer: True

Diane is a waitress in a diner where Sawyer meets his partner, Gordy ("The Long Con").
Sam is seen in Sayid's flashback in "One Of Them", carrying a picture of a younger Kate. In the same episode we also learn that Sayid know Kelvin Joe Inman, who would later train Desmond to live on the island. Since we can assume that Inman and Sam Austen also knew each other, they also establish a connection between Kate and Desmond.
8. Where is the connection between Sawyer and Hurley?

Answer: Sawyer sleeps with the woman who pulls Hurley's winning numbers in Mega Lotto Jackpot

In "Outlaws", Sawyer is seen entering a hotel room with Mary Jo, but their tete-a-tete is interrupted by Hibbs. Later, in "Numbers", we see Mary Jo again on TV, pulling the numbers that earn Hurley his fortune.
9. There is a connection between Claire and Mr. Eko.

Answer: True

Richard Malkin, the psychic whom Claire visited several times in "Raised By Another", is also the father of Charlotte, the girl who had the near-death-experience that Mr. Eko is sent to investigate ("?").
10. When Jin "delivers a message" for Mr. Paik in "... In Translation", the target's daughter watches the news on TV. Who can be seen on the TV screen?

Answer: Hurley

There's a report on Hurley winning the lottery on TV.
