Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Shot by Ana Lucia Cortez.

Answer: Shannon Rutherford

Ana Lucia became confused in the jungle by all the events that had occurred to her over the past 40 plus days, the disappearance of Cindy Chandler and the whispers. Shannon was attempting to find Walt in the jungle. Disoriented, Ana Lucia mistook Shannon for a hostile Other and shot her. Ana Lucia is responsible for Goodwin's death, but he was impaled. Also, Goodwin had kidnapped some castaways and killed Nathan.
2. Murdered by his child.

Answer: Roger Linus

Roger Linus was a workman for the Dharma Initiative on the island and single parent to Ben Linus. When Ben betrayed Dharma in the purge, he killed his father himself in a van on his birthday. Roger's body was found later in the abandoned van as Ben had no interest in recovering the body. John Locke, Anthony Cooper's son, was encouraged to kill his father.

However, it was Sawyer who did the deed. Kate did murder her father, but Sam Austen was not her biological dad and was not murdered. Kate's presumed step-father, Wayne, turned out to be her real father and she blew him up for her "mother's sake".
3. Buried alive.

Answer: Nikki Fernandez

Nikki Fernandez was bitten by a Medusa spider. The bite causes such complete paralysis the victim appears to be dead. She was buried alive by the castaways with Paolo, another bite victim. The pair were both after a stash of diamonds that they had stolen and brought onto the island.
4. Drowned in an underwater Dharma station.

Answer: Charlie Pace

The castaways realized that the only way off the island was to throw a switch at the Looking Glass station, which was underwater. Desmond had seen Charlie drown in the station in a flash vision of the future and told Charlie. Despite this Charlie volunteered.

He threw the switch but then saw Mikail Bakunin with a grenade near the porthole. Charlie locked himself in the chamber to protect Desmond as the broken porthole allowed the water to rush inside the room.
5. Mind kept jumping through time.

Answer: George Minkowski

George Minkowski was a member of the Kahana freighter crew. He got too close to the island, which caused his brain to skip through different periods in his life. Desmond also got the same affliction, but Daniel Faraday helped Desmond by showing he needed a constant, an object or person that was a constant in his life. Desmond contacted Penny Widmore, his constant and survived. Minkowski was not so fortunate. Charlotte Lewis also died due to time jumps, but her entire body was jumping.
6. Injuries from plane crash, shot by James "Sawyer" Ford and put out of his misery by Jack Shepherd.

Answer: Edward Mars

Edward Mars was one of the first victims to die after the plane crash. It became apparent to the castaways that he was going to die but only after a slow death of several days. Sawyer used the gun to shoot him, which Mars had already requested. Unfortunately his aim was off. So Jack killed him so he would not die very painfully over the next few hours.
7. In child birth.

Answer: Emily Linus

Emily gave birth to Ben early in the woods. Ben's father never let Ben forget this fact, which established their hostile relationship. The ghost of Emily brought Ben to the Hostiles while his father worked for the Dharma Initiative. The other three women have been pregnant during the series but gave birth safely.
8. Death by smoke monster.

Answer: Seth Norris

Captain Seth Norris was the pilot killed in the pilot episode of the series. His name was revealed by Frank Lapidus, a friend of the captain's. Frank was the intended pilot for Oceanic Flight 815. The pilot was killed when he attempted to get a better look at the monster and was pulled out of the cockpit. Mr. Eko was also a victim of the smoke monster as well as several other people.
9. Killed by Charlie Pace.

Answer: Ethan Rom

Ethan, acting on orders from the Others, kidnapped Claire Littleton and Charlie. He hung Charlie to show how serious he was, but Jack brought him back from near death. After Claire escaped, Ethan tried to kidnap her again, killing either Scott or Steve. (One is never sure.) The survivors planned to capture Ethan, but Charlie shot Ethan several times.
10. Blown up by dynamite.

Answer: Leslie Arzt

Leslie Arzt accompanied a team from Flight 815 to locate the dynamite at the 'Black Rock'. Their intention was to use the dynamite to blow open the hatch, which they did. Arzt came to instruct them on how to properly handle it. Ironically, he was the illustration on what happens when it is not handled properly.
