Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first scene shows us "Ice", Ned Stark's greatsword, reforged into two smaller swords. The scabbard is decorated with a wolf's pelt. What does Tywin Lannister do with this scabbard?

Answer: He throws it in the fire

This is the very first scene of season four and greatly symbolizes the shifting of power in Westeros. House Stark is completely stripped of power, having lost Winterfell to Roose Bolton and their king at the Red Wedding. The Lannisters on the other hand, having secured an alliance with Highgarden, have a firm grip on the Iron Throne and most of Westeros.
2. While Dorne has been mentioned in earlier episodes, this is the first time we see a Dornishman (and woman) on the show. Since Doran Martell, ruler of House Martell, is of ill health, he sends his brother Oberyn to attend King Joffrey's wedding. With him comes his paramour. What is her name?

Answer: Ellaria

She is a bastard from Dorne (her last name is Sand), where bastards are held in higher regard than the rest of Westeros. Elia, Obella and Dorea are three of her and Oberyn's children. We first meet the colorful pair at one of Littlefinger's whorehouses. It is revealed that they are both bi-sexual.
3. Oberyn Martell has come to King's Landing seeking revenge for the death of his sister during the sacking of the city at the end of Robert's Rebellion. What was his sister's name?

Answer: Elia

He believes Gregor Clegane, "The Mountain that Rides," is responsible for raping and brutally murdering her when the Red Keep was stormed. Oberyn also holds Tywin Lannister responsible for giving Clegane the order to have her killed.

Obara, Nymeria and Tyene are Oberyn's daughters, though not with Ellaria Sand.
4. We see Qyburn fastening a freshly crafted golden hand for Jaime Lannister. When asked how it feels, what does Jaime say would be more practical?

Answer: A hook

As Qyburn leaves the room, Jaime makes a rather humorous wave with his new hand. This hand replaces the one cut off by Locke in season three, when Jaime and Brienne were captured. He now faces the challenge of serving as Commander of the Kingsguard without his sword-hand.
5. South of the wall we see Tormund Giantsbane and Ygritte meet up with another tribe under Mance Rayder's banner, the Thenns. Their leader Styr has the title Magnar (meaning "lord" in the Old Tongue). What is revealed about the Thenns in this scene?

Answer: They are cannibals

They traveled north to meet up with Tormund, having taken a detour in a nearby village. There they killed and dismembered the people and once they arrived at Tormund's camp they started roasting the body-parts over the fire.
6. Back at Castle Black, Jon Snow faces the temporary leadership of the Night's Watch. Alliser Thorne is acting commander and Janos Slynt has taken an advisory role after his arrival from King's Landing. What was Janos Slynt's job in King's Landing?

Answer: Commander of the City Watch

He carried out the murders of King Robert's bastards, personally killing an infant boy, an act that made Tyrion send him to The Wall and replacing him with Bronn.

Goldcloaks are the individual members of the City Watch, named after the color of their cloaks (duh).
7. Brienne has a meeting with Margaery where she swears the shadow that killed Renly Baratheon had a familiar face. Who did she recognize as the face of this shadow?

Answer: Stannis

"I swear to you by the gods it was Stannis". She swears to avenge their king when Margaery points out that Joffrey is their king now. As they walk away we are left with an image of the statue of King Joffrey, crossbow in hand, standing on top of a dead wolf.
8. We see Jaime planning the protection detail of King Joffrey's wedding, while the king himself is absentmindedly listening. Who is the third person in the room?

Answer: Ser Meryn

Ser Meryn Trant has been a member of the Kingsguard since early in season one. He is perhaps best known for slapping Sansa whenever King Joffrey gave the order. He takes offense at not being detailed to protect the king during the wedding, instead being ordered to guard Lady Margaery and Prince Tommen.
9. The episode ends with Arya Stark and Sandor Clegane entering an inn taken over by Lannister soldiers. Arya recognizes one of the men from when she was a prisoner at Harrenhal. What was his name?

Answer: Polliver

He was part of the group that captured Arya and took her to Harrenhal in season two. Since he stole her sword (Needle) and killed Lommy with it, Arya added him to her kill-list.

The Tickler was the man torturing prisoners at Harrenhal in season two; he was later killed by Jaqen H'ghar. Raff and Chiswyck are characters from the book under the command of Ser Gregor Clegane.
10. Before killing Polliver, Arya repeats the words he spoke before killing Lommy. "Fine little blade. Maybe I'll pick my teeth with it". She then stabs him through the heart with Needle.

Answer: False

She uses Needle to pierce his neck, exactly the way he killed Lommy in season two. As they leave the inn, Arya has earned her own horse to ride and we see them enter the scourged Riverlands before the credits start rolling.
