Mr. Schuester is walking past the dumpsters before the "popular" jocks throw Kurt into the dumpster. Before they throw him in Kurt says "wait" then throws down his bag. While the jocks are holding Kurt in their arms, Kurt says "One day you will all work for me."

After Rachel goes to the dentist and has a very vivid Britney Spears fantasy, she starts dressing like Britney. Finn comes over and has a worried look on his face. She tells Finn that they can't control each other. Finn has her blessing to rejoin the football team, and he shouldn't tell her how to dress.

After Rachel tells Finn that he has to choose between her and football, she sends Quinn to ask Finn out on a dinner date. Rachel did this because she was worried that Finn would cheat on her. Finn says that he still has feelings for Quinn, but that he is dating someone else. Quinn tells Rachel what happens leading Rachel to sing "The Only Exception" by Paramore.

Santana does, in fact, sing "Science Fiction/Double Feature". Mercedes sings "Sweet Transvestite". Finn and Rachel sing "Dammit Janet". Jesse St. James returned to McKinley High School after he went on Spring Break with his Carmell High friends. She told him that a guy came into the Glee club choir room and talked about dreams. She revealed that her dream was to play three roles on Broadway. She wanted to play "Evita", "Funny Girl", and Laurie from "Oklahoma".

Kurt asks Finn what kind of theme or color he should pick for his room. Kurt asks him this question because he finds out that Finn and his mom will be moving into his house. Kurt was exceptionally excited that he was going to be sharing a room with Finn.

When "New Directions arrives in New York City they go to their hotel. Mr. Schuester tells them to write two songs for Nationals while he is out. The only motivation that they have, according to Quinn, is mattresses and cups. So they leave the hotel and roam the beautiful city of New York.

Jesse St. James just moved back to Carmel High's Vocal Adrenaline in this episode. After they perform in the McKinley High's auditorium they put toilet paper all over the Glee club's choir room. The guys want to get revenge, so Finn and Puck slash holes in all of the cars belonging to Vocal Adrenaline.

They get caught but luckily Shelby, the director of Vocal Adrenaline, doesn't press charges. Finn says that they will get jobs and pay off the damage in a month. Puck and Finn are hired at Sheets 'n' Things where Terri works.

While they are helping Sandy Ryerson, they start singing "Loser".

Mr. Schuester thought that since disco was cool when he was in high school that it was still cool. He decides to have the members of the New Directions sing "Le Freak". However, the students don't like the idea of being teased for the rest of their lives for singing this song for the assembly. Rachel comes up with an idea.

The idea is to give the student body what they want, so they sing "Push It" at the assembly.

In this episode Puck is crazy in love with one Lauren Zizes. He loves that she is so tough and can stand up for herself. Meanwhile, Mr. Schuester gives the Glee Club an assignment for the week. The assignment was to choose a partner, and sing a love song to them. Of course, Puck chooses Lauren and sings "Fat Bottomed Girls".

This song offended Lauren, but she wasn't furious. They made up in a weird sort-of way.

There is a lot of drama in this episode. Santana and Quinn don't get elected prom queen. Kurt is selected prom queen as a practical joke, and Karovski prom king. Finn and Jesse get in a fight over Rachel.
