Answer: CHiPs

"CHiPS" was a rather 'light' crime drama centered around two California motorcycle policemen and their daily interactions with criminals, crashes and cuties. The program ran from 1977 - 1983, and for the majority of the series the two main characters were Ponch, played by Erik Estrada, and Jon, played by Larry Wilcox. Due to salary disputes and personality conflicts, towards the end of the run changes were made that replaced Estrada with Bruce Jenner for part of the fifth season, and replaced Wilcox with Tom Reilly for the sixth season.

The two main characters never drew their guns during the entire run of the show. The series also starred Robert Pine, Lew Saunders and Brodie Greer. A television movie sequel, "CHiPS '99", featured a few of the program's original stars, including Erik Estrada, Larry Wilcox and Robert Pine.
2. Sian is in Springfield, and it is dark, but she can still see that the residents have yellow skin! She follows Barney to his friend's house, and slips inside, searching for the famous saxophone. What animated television show is she planning to steal from?

Answer: The Simpsons

In 1987 "The Simpsons" debuted on television in a number of 'shorts' on the Tracey Ullman Show. In 1989 the dysfunctional family of Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Maggie struck out on their own with a half hour program that followed them, and the other residents of Springfield, through years of pratfalls, pop culture references and general mayhem.

The series has had a number of notable guest stars, including Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman and Tracey Ullman. The program's theme song was composed by Danny Elfman, and the Simpsons were created by Matt Groening (he also created "Futurama").
3. New York City is noisy, but Manhattan's Eleventh Precinct does not seem noisy enough. A rather gritty police drama, the series centered on an incorruptible New York detective and his inimitable style as he solved cases.

The lollipops became a signature prop for the detective as he struggled to overcome his smoking habit. The series also featured Dan Frazer, Kevin Dobson and George Savalas (Telly's younger brother).

Based on the 1964 movie "The Brass Bottle" - which starred Barbara Eden - the series centered on an astronaut and a genie, and the inevitable complications such a situation would create. Larry Hagman, Barbara Eden, Bill Daily and Hayden Rorke starred as the main characters. While numerous bottles were used throughout the filming of the series, Barbara Eden got to keep the bottle used on the last filming day of the series.

Answer: Star Trek

Created by Gene Roddenberry, "Star Trek: The Original Series" featured an ensemble cast on a five year mission to explore outer space. Delving into new concepts, touching on previously 'taboo' subjects in American television and confronting the very worst and very best in humankind kept the series going for three seasons.

The series, which starred William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley and several other fine actors, brought words such as phaser, Klingon and warp drive into popular culture.

The series, which had some big-name guest stars, including Julie Newmar, Teri Garr and Ricardo Montalban, spawned a vast franchise of books, television series and films.

Answer: Wonder Woman

Running from 1976 - 1979, "Wonder Woman" starred Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) and Lyle Waggoner as Steve Trevor. The first season was set during World War II, with Trevor (government agent) and Diana (Amazon princess) battling Nazi forces and other evils. For the second season, a 35 year gap in time took the series into then present day situations, with Waggoner playing Steve Trevor Jr., and the two following story lines with more contemporary detective/mystery plots. Along with the bullet-deflecting bracelets, Wonder Woman's implements include a power belt, golden lasso of truth, and an invisible plane.

The series was based on the DC Comics character created by William Moulton Marston.
8. The Phoenix Foundation headquarters is a confusing maze of hallways, but Sian is sure she is on the right track. Richard Dean Anderson played Angus MacGyver, a secret agent working as a problem solver for the Phoenix Foundation. Each episode found MacGyver faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges which he met and solved - often with little more than his Swiss Army knife, a roll of duct tape and an uncanny knowledge of scientific facts.

His co-star, Dana Elcar played Pete Thornton (MacGyver's boss and best friend), and when Elcar began to lose his sight due to glaucoma, it was incorporated into his character's storyline.

The series ran from 1985 - 1992, and afterwards Anderson produced and starred in two television films that featured MacGyver - 1994's "MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis" and "MacGyver: Trail to Doomsday".

Starring Bob Crane as the ranking POW officer, John Banner as the bumbling Sergeant Schultz and Werner Klemperer as the monocled Colonel Klink, the series ran from 1965 - 1971. And despite the controversies that the premise raised, the show was nominated for three Emmy Awards for Best Comedy Series.
