Parker dropped Rohypnol into his drink while hiding in an air vent directly above him which caused him to immediately feint. Nate appeared to help, posing as a doctor on jury duty, and demanded that Eddie was transported to the hospital for additional tests before leaving for federal prison.

Hardison and Eliot posed as local police and showed up at the hospital under the guise of offering additional backup to the marshals, when really they were there to keep the marshals occupied long enough for the team to pull off their con. When a major accident pile-up on the freeway forced a real nurse to burst in Eddie's fake M.R.I. room so that a real patient could use it, everyone discovered a dummy in the M.R.I. machine, and not Eddie.

Eliot tried to befriend him by telling him that he liked the name Randy, and that it was his uncle's name. Eliot encouraged him to tell a police officer what was happening to him but Randy told Eliot that his father was friends with the police and he knew that no one would believe him. Eliot tried to intervene with the boy's father and threatened him the stairwell, but he knew that he couldn't do more for him at that time.

Hardison mentions Star Trek a lot throughout the first two seasons of the show and he discovered that Charlie, one of the marshals, was actually a hitman for the Armenian mob. Eliot had removed his earbud and would have been shot by Charlie if Hardison hadn't made a loud speaker announcement paging for "Ralph O'Conn" which, in Star Trek reference, is "Wrath of Kahn," a 1982 Star Trek movie.

Eliot dumped him on top of a dead body and locked him in one of the drawers in the morgue. At the end of the episode Eliot and Hardison lead Charlie, the legitimate marshal, to the drawer where Charlie was being held. He woke up once they opened the drawer and freaked out, which resulted in Eliot knocking him out once again.

Almost all of Eddie's symptoms were fake and brought on by the team's trickery and dosing. For example, Parker dosed Eddie's wheelchair with a chemical that would give him a rash reminiscent of the one that Sophie had when she and Eddie shared a room together.

After Sophie performed her fake death scene, which included some unnatural bleeding, Eddie's nose began to bleed without any intervention or provocation by the team. This affirmed to Nate that they had accessed Eddie's fear and that their plan was beginning to truly pay off.

It was only after Nate became afflicted and Parker handcuffed him to a bed that Eddie began bartering for his freedom. He told Parker that he had $400,000 stashed away and he would lead her to it if she let him go. Since this was the goal of their con all along, she unlocked him and they fled.

Immediately after Eddie broke into the courthouse and went to the utility closet, he was surprised and punched out by Parker. It turned out that Eddie had not tasered Parker, as previously shown, but that the team knew he would double-cross Parker and they instead made sure the security footage captured the attack.

After Eddie realized that the crew had executed an elaborate con full of illegal actions he threatened to expose them to the police. He was a man possessed with revenge and failed to consider whether the police would believe him. He saw himself as a victim and never even realized that the police saw him as a convicted criminal who assaulted a nurse and escaped federal custody. Eddie ran directly into the path of the police and was immediately recaptured.
