Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Nate told one of Eddie Maranjian's victims that his crimes were referred to as "affinity crimes," which was when an individual preyed on members of fellow ethnic groups. What ethnicity was Eddie and the majority of his clients?

Answer: Armenian

Eddie's Armenian background was mentioned several times throughout the episode and it was also mentioned that he had angered the Armenian mob, one of his former clients, by offering federal agents information about them in exchange for a lighter sentence.
2. After Eddie was punched out in court the team needed to work fast to somehow remove him from police custody long enough to find out where he had hidden the money. How did they get him to go to the hospital?

Answer: Parker dropped a sedative into his water bottle

Parker dropped Rohypnol into his drink while hiding in an air vent directly above him which caused him to immediately feint. Nate appeared to help, posing as a doctor on jury duty, and demanded that Eddie was transported to the hospital for additional tests before leaving for federal prison.
3. Nate estimated that they only had two hours before the marshals would become suspicious about Eddie's progress and whereabouts. What test did they tell the marshals that Eddie was having done?

Answer: M.R.I. brain scan

Hardison and Eliot posed as local police and showed up at the hospital under the guise of offering additional backup to the marshals, when really they were there to keep the marshals occupied long enough for the team to pull off their con. When a major accident pile-up on the freeway forced a real nurse to burst in Eddie's fake M.R.I. room so that a real patient could use it, everyone discovered a dummy in the M.R.I. machine, and not Eddie.
4. When Eliot was playing the part of the police officer he saw a boy being checked into the hospital by his father with a broken arm. His father told the nurse that it was a skateboarding accident but Eliot noticed a pattern of bruising indicative of child abuse. What was the name of this little boy?

Answer: Randy

Eliot tried to befriend him by telling him that he liked the name Randy, and that it was his uncle's name. Eliot encouraged him to tell a police officer what was happening to him but Randy told Eliot that his father was friends with the police and he knew that no one would believe him. Eliot tried to intervene with the boy's father and threatened him the stairwell, but he knew that he couldn't do more for him at that time.
5. Prior to meeting the U.S. marshals that were escorting Eddie to Florida, Hardison wanted to establish a secret code between himself and Eliot, for situations where any potential danger would arise. In these situations, Hardison said that he would casually reference a connection to a specific TV show in the conversation. What show did he use?

Answer: Star Trek

Hardison mentions Star Trek a lot throughout the first two seasons of the show and he discovered that Charlie, one of the marshals, was actually a hitman for the Armenian mob. Eliot had removed his earbud and would have been shot by Charlie if Hardison hadn't made a loud speaker announcement paging for "Ralph O'Conn" which, in Star Trek reference, is "Wrath of Kahn," a 1982 Star Trek movie.
6. Eliot did not have his earbud in when Hardison notified him that Charlie was not, in fact, the U.S. marshal he claimed to be. Unfortunately, Charlie had also checked up on whether Eliot and Hardison were truly police officers and found that they were not who they claimed to be either. This resulted in a fight between Eliot and Charlie; Eliot was the victor. Where did Eliot stash Charlie after he knocked him out?

Answer: in a drawer at the morgue

Eliot dumped him on top of a dead body and locked him in one of the drawers in the morgue. At the end of the episode Eliot and Hardison lead Charlie, the legitimate marshal, to the drawer where Charlie was being held. He woke up once they opened the drawer and freaked out, which resulted in Eliot knocking him out once again.
7. Nate's plan centered around accessing the fear center of Eddie's mind. At one point the fear was so palpable that Eddie experienced a natural physical reaction to the situation; Parker asked Nate whether he had afflicted Eddie with additional symptoms simply by using his mind. What did she think Nate had made happen?

Answer: nosebleed

Almost all of Eddie's symptoms were fake and brought on by the team's trickery and dosing. For example, Parker dosed Eddie's wheelchair with a chemical that would give him a rash reminiscent of the one that Sophie had when she and Eddie shared a room together.

After Sophie performed her fake death scene, which included some unnatural bleeding, Eddie's nose began to bleed without any intervention or provocation by the team. This affirmed to Nate that they had accessed Eddie's fear and that their plan was beginning to truly pay off.
8. In order to ensure that their plan would work, Nate decided that they needed to create a very frightening environment. They needed to create a very authentic viral outbreak hospital experience. Which of the following is NOT one of the ways they manipulated and terrorized Eddie?

Answer: forced him to write a dying declaration to his family

It was only after Nate became afflicted and Parker handcuffed him to a bed that Eddie began bartering for his freedom. He told Parker that he had $400,000 stashed away and he would lead her to it if she let him go. Since this was the goal of their con all along, she unlocked him and they fled.
9. After Eddie "escaped" from the hospital he broke into a car went to reclaim his hidden money so he could flee as quickly as possible. Where was Eddie Maranjian hiding the stolen money?

Answer: utility closet ceiling at the courthouse

Immediately after Eddie broke into the courthouse and went to the utility closet, he was surprised and punched out by Parker. It turned out that Eddie had not tasered Parker, as previously shown, but that the team knew he would double-cross Parker and they instead made sure the security footage captured the attack.
10. Was Eddie ever recaptured by the police?

Answer: Yes

After Eddie realized that the crew had executed an elaborate con full of illegal actions he threatened to expose them to the police. He was a man possessed with revenge and failed to consider whether the police would believe him. He saw himself as a victim and never even realized that the police saw him as a convicted criminal who assaulted a nurse and escaped federal custody. Eddie ran directly into the path of the police and was immediately recaptured.
