Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Helena and Sarah are more than just clones, they are twins who share the same birth mother. They weren't, however, raised by the same people or even in the same country. Where was Helena raised?

Answer: In a convent in Ukraine

At age 12 the Prolethean Tomas "took her into care" and trained her to hunt down and kill the other clones. Tomas told her that she was the original and that the others were abominations and deserved to die. Sarah Manning was adopted by Mrs. S alongside her foster brother Felix. Before moving to Canada, they lived in the UK which explains why the two of them have a British accent.
2. Who is the father of Sarah's daughter Kira?

Answer: Cal

Kira meets her father for the first time in episode 3 season 2. She is 8 years old at the time. Not even Sarah's brother Felix knew who her dad was up until then. What's remarkable about Kira is that she is Sarah's biological daughter; the clones were originally designed to not be able to reproduce which is why Alison's children are adopted. Sarah's twin sister, Helena, is also fertile.
3. Alison Hendrix is no murderer but she does watch her friend Aynsley choke to death without helping her because she thinks she is her monitor. As it turns out she is mistaken. Who is her actual monitor?

Answer: Donny

The first person Alison suspects to be her monitor is in fact her husband Donny but at some point she changes her mind. Even though she doesn't physically hurt Aynsley, she does blame herself for her death because she was a passive bystander.
4. The main clones - and a few selected allies of theirs - each have a so called clone phone. In season 1 they are pink but what's the colour of their new clone phones in season 2?

Answer: Green

Only a selected few are given the numbers to the clone phones; it's a way for Cosima, Alison and Sarah to try and stay as safe and under the radar as possible.
5. Before turning her suspicion towards Aynsley, Alison thinks that her husband Donny is her monitor. In season 1 episode 6 she ties him up and tortures him. What does she torture him with?

Answer: A glue gun

Donny is in fact her monitor, only, he doesn't know for most of the first two seasons. Alison finds out before he does. He also has no idea that his wife is a clone up until late in season 2. Alison tortures him with a glue gun; the golf club is "only" used for knocking him out before dropping him down the stairs and tying him up.

At least shes put a hockey helmet on him before she drops him down the stairs, after all, she does love him.
6. Unlike most of the other clones, Cosima never much doubts who her monitor is: Delphine Cormier. They first meet in the fifth episode of season 1 and Cosima tells her, 'I'm evo devo.' What does she mean by that?

Answer: That she's taking her PhD in evolutionary development

The term 'evo devo' is short for evolutionary development which is what Cosima is taking her PhD in at the University of Minnesota. She eventually leaves school though, after she gets sick and is offered her own lab at the DYAD Institute. This grants her the opportunity to study her own illness and gives her a chance to find a cure, not just save her own life but also the life of other sick clones. Cosima is very intelligent when it comes to matters of science but not so much when it comes to the matter of her heart; she's quite convinced that Delphine is her monitor but still goes on to flirt and socialize with her.

When she learns Delphine has been going through her things for information on the other clones she is heartbroken even though she knows from the get-go that monitors aren't to be trusted.
7. In the first episode of season 2, a badly injured Helena stumbles into a hospital and says, 'My sestra shot me.' What does she use to try to stop the bleeding?

Answer: Duct tape

When Helena stumbles into the hospital, her chest is wrapped in duct tape. Sarah is the 'sestra' who shot her and she would have been dead had it not been for the fact that her heart is located in the right side of her chest instead of the left side. It is somewhat ironic that Sarah tries to kill her when, later on, Helena saves Sarah's life.

Helena just wants a family and she is very fond of Sarah, even before Sarah warms up to her and just wants her dead.
8. Sarah's daughter Kira tends to get kidnapped a lot. Who of the following does not kidnap her in the first two seasons?

Answer: Mark, on behalf of the Proletheans

Mrs. S only stages the kidnapping of Kira but since Sarah has no idea and really does believe her daughter has been taken from her, it's a kidnapping! Mark leaves the Proletheans at the end of season 2 in order to get his girlfriend - and now wife - away from her father.
9. In the sixth episode of season 2, Helena, the food enthusiast, goes to a bar and orders a line-up of drinks. A guy next to her orders something to eat and she offers up a white Russian in order to trade him for the food. What does he order?

Answer: Pork rinds

The guy's name is Jesse and he and Helena share a kiss later that day. They also end up starting a bar fight and Helena is taken to jail. All this happens when she is supposed to sit in Sarah's car and wait for her.
10. Cosima Niehaus is probably the least violent of the clones we've met in the first two seasons of the series, but she still likes to take a walk on the wild side from time to time. Which of the following is not something she has done, as far as we're aware?

Answer: Cheat on a test

In the episode "Variations Under Domestication" in season 1 Delphine invites Cosima to go see a lecture with Dr. Leekie. When the lecture is over Cosima steals two bottles of wine and runs off with Delphine. In the same episode she tells her that the only thing she smokes is a bit pot and then says that she will get her totally baked some day.

It takes her a while to actually fulfill that promise but it finally happens in the 2nd season; she and Delphine go to town on a bottle of helium in Cosima's lab at the DYAD Institute.

This is also the episode where Delphine utters the words, 'Je t'aime'. Cosima tells her she loves her too but that she will destroy her career if she ever betrays her and the other clones again.
