Pt. 10- A "Supernatural" Survival Quiz

It took Sam awhile to get a feel for Dean's presence. When he finally did, he bought a Ouija Board to talk to his brother. Dean was skeptical of it usefulness, but it did work. He was able to tell Sam he was hunting a reaper.

Answer: Tessa

Dean first saw the Reaper in its ghostly white, flowing body form. It scared him, as it was hovering over HIS body to take his soul. So, it turned tactic and made him think it was Tessa, another coma bound person in the hospital. Even caught in the ether, Dean was working hard against the netherworld. Dean read John Winchester's remarks about Reapers over Sam's shoulder, and then he realized he'd been tricked.

He refused to go with the Reaper, but it told him he couldn't ever get back inside his own body.

It had just about convinced him to cross over, when the demon invaded it and sent Dean back. Lindsey McKeon played Tessa. She also played Taylor James on several episodes of "One Tree Hill".

Answer: 10:41 am

John summoned the fire demon he and the boys had been after all of season one. He went down into the hospital boiler room to do this. He offered the demon the colt and its one remaining bullet, if it could save Dean's life. The demon said he knew someone who could do it, but the colt was not enough. So, in an unseen agreement, John agreed to allow the demon to kill him.

The demon went into the reaper, sent Dean's soul back into his body, and then John handed over the colt. Moments later we see Sam find his father's body, and then the medical team pronounces the death as 10:41 am. We do not know yet know if John had to sacrifice only his life, or he had to hand over his soul as well. Maybe we'll see actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan again, as a spirit guide for his sons. I hope so. I have seen him die in every series I've seen him in- "Weeds", "Grey's Anatomy", and "Supernatural".

Answer: Ellen

According to Dean, he'd used the phone number the call came from to track an address. As a cellphone user I know that my received call list is about 10 phone numbers long. In four months my call list has probably reset itself about 25 times. A text message would keep the cellphone number attached, but voicemail does not always do that.

Ellen turned out to be a friend of John Winchester's, and her message relayed she had some info on his demon. He never returned her call, as she confirmed later, so he never picked up her information.
Samantha Ferris ("The 4400") played Ellen, and Alona Tal played her daughter Jo. Alona also played Meg on "Veronica Mars" and was born in Israel in 1983.

Answer: the blind man

The blind man was a faker, not blind nor a man. He was an ancient Hindu creature, whose name I couldn't spell or pronounce. In any case, the creature could mimic whatever it wanted to, and would appear to children as a clown. The children would invite it into their homes after leaving the carnival, which was required for it to enter. Then, "blind man" would eat the kids' parents.
Dean mentioned a bearded lady, but I do not think one was ever seen. There was no lobster boy either, in which the official diagnosis would be Ectrodactilia.

Answer: 51 hours

Sam and Dean found Ash at the Roadhouse, along with Ellen and Jo. Ellen's husband used to be a hunter, like John, but died years ago. Ash said he needed 51 hours to organize John's papers and track the demon. When the men returned after killing the "clown demon" (my words), Ash had put all the info into a self made laptop. He said as soon as new info happened, he'd be alerted. He revealed he'd learn his computer/mechanical skills as a student at MIT.
Chad Lindberg played Ash.

This episode was dedicated "In Memory of our Friend Peter Ellis". Peter died in April 2006, and directed many episodes of television. He directed "Bloody Mary" and "The Benders" in season one of Supernatural, as well as episodes of "Falcon Crest", "Highlander", "Sliders", "Criminal Minds", "Smallville" and "Numbers".

Answer: Gordon Walker

Gordon was hunting a specific group of vampires, which he'd claimed to have tracked from Austin. Gordon had lost his sister to a vampire when he was just eighteen, and hunted both that vamp and his sister, killing them both.
Sterling K. Brown played Gordon. The other three choices are names of NBA players, Alonzo and Dwyane were on the Miami Heat's 2006 championship team.

Answer: True

After Gordon declined help from the Winchesters, they followed him on his next hunt. It was lucky for him that they did, as Conrad almost got the better of him. Dean saved Gordon from Conrad, and behead the vamp. Later, Sam found out the name of this vampire from some of the creature's friends.

Answer: Lenore

Lenore had her friends kidnap Sam from his motel room. They covered his head so he couldn't lead anyone back to them, and drove him out to meet Lenore. Lenore explained to Sam that she and vampire family hadn't killed or drank from humans in years. They had taken to using cattle as their means of living. Sam believed her story when she decided to free him without any harm. Sam tried to convince Dean of Lenore's story, but Gordon took off to track her in the mean time.

Amber Benson played the vampire Lenore. In a nice change of pace, Amber took on the role of vampire, as she used to fight vampires as Tara Maclay on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

Answer: Dead man's blood

Gordon used a knife dipped in dead man's blood to poison and torture Lenore. In season one's "Dead Man's Blood", we first met up with vampires. Kate and Luther were lovers, and part of their own vampire family. John Winchester killed Luthor, with a shot from the special pistol.

Sam and Dean arrived in time to save Lenore, and to see Gordon for the narrow minded obsessed hunter he had become.
