Pt. 16- A "Supernatural" Season Two Finale Quiz

Dean drove up to a roadside diner for food. The road sign read "diner" and the building had a huge neon sign that read "cafe". Sam went inside for the food, the car stereo experienced interference, and when Dean looked up he couldn't see anyone inside any longer. When he entered the cafe, three people were dead and Sam had disappeared.

Answer: Andy

Of all four choices, Andy was the only person to ever be in Cold Oaks with Sam. Sam recognized a bell that was in the ghost town, and he informed the other 23 year olds that it was Cold Oaks, South Dakota. Andy first appeared in episode 27, "Simon Said". Andy could make people do his bidding by using only his mind.

It turned out he had a twin brother who was being manipulated by old yellow eyes. Gabriel Tigerman played Andy. Ava summoned a demon to kill Andy a bit later.

Answer: Lily

Of these choices, Lily was the only person to be killed by a demon. She told the others that her power had served as more of curse than anything good. When she touched people, their hearts would stop. She accidentally killed her girlfriend that way. And, since Ava had been there the longest, she already knew what was expected. She called on a demon to kill Lily. Sam initially believed it was yellow eyes who killed Lily because she tried to leave. Then he later found out that Ava had long since honed her own powers. Andy was the only other person to be killed by a demon, when Ava summoned one to come after him.
Jake killed Ava when he broke her neck and saved Sam in the process.
Jessica Harmon played Lily and Katharine Isabelle played Ava.

Answer: super strength

Jake had been moved out of Afghanistan into Cold Oaks. He was a soldier who'd discovered he had super strength while on duty. In the end, he used his power against Ava and then Sam. Aldis Hodge played Jake. "Friday Night Lights" fans may recognize him as Ray "VooDoo" Tatum from season one of that series. Previously he'd guest starred on "Buffy", "ER", "Bones", and "Charmed".

Answer: she knew the demon

Yellow eyes showed Sam the moment of his mother's death, so that Sam could see all that really happened. He saw the demon feed him demonic blood as a six month old baby. He also saw him mother recognize the demon when she ran into his nursery to protect him, and then he was awakened before he saw her die in flames.

Answer: No

The first demon, from "Crossroad Blues", was played by actress Jeannette Sousa. The new demon was played by actress Ona Grauer. Dean didn't make a deal to save his father on that first visit, instead he trapped the demon in a devil's trap. Dean did release her, as I am sure he knew he may have to come back and make a deal with her in the future.

Answer: Wyoming

Samuel, the creator of that special demon killing pistol, had formed a huge devil's trap in Wyoming. He'd formed a railroad line into the shape of a pentagram by connecting it to five 19th century frontier churches. Now, what was trapped in the center?

Two of the states were Australian states instead of American ones.

Answer: True

The tomb/vault was located in an old cowboy cemetery in the center of the devil's trap in Wyoming. Yellow eyes gave the pistol to Jake, who thought about using in on him first. Yellow eyes coaxed Jake into seeing the big evil picture, and Jake lowered the pistol.

When Jake arrived at the tomb, Sam, Dean, Ellen and Bobby were waiting for him. Jake was able to use the pistol to open the door, after which poured out hell itself.

Answer: John

After the tomb had been opened, the devil's trap was unlocked. Yellow eyes was then able to appear on the land that had been locked to him. He tossed Dean and Sam around the cemetery, but while doing so John Winchester was able to crawl his way out of hell. John grabbed hold of the demon, whose reaction was to abandon the human man he inhabited. Before he could collect himself and tornado back into the human, Dean grabbed the Colt. Dean fired that last lucky bullet into the man just as the demon had reinstalled itself into the body. The demon died and John was able to cross over.

All of the choices were friends and loved ones that had passed, Ash being the most recent. He died in the fire at the roadhouse that was supposed to kill Ellen as well.

Based on comments from Jake and yellow eyes, Sam knew he had to have died after Jake stabbed him. He questioned Dean, who finally admitted that he had made a deal with the demoness.

Sam: "How long did you get?"
Dean: "One year."

This news had really upset Bobby, especially when he found out that Dean had only been given one year. In "Crossroad Blues", the demoness had given the people ten years before she collected their souls. She wouldn't give Dean that same agreement. She smelled his desperation and finally told him she would agree to bring Sam back, but Dean only got one year before his soul would be reaped. He agreed to the deal, though he tried to hold out for five years. He explained to Sam that he had no choice, so Sam said that he would protect Dean this next year as they tried to find a way out of the deal.
