The police surround the bank, but Dean and Sam, after killing the shapeshifter, manage to escape in the uniforms of SWAT officers.

The trickster inhabits the body of a college building janitor. Dean kills him by putting a stake through his heart, but the trickster rises from the dead.

Sam's body is taken over by a demon, which makes him kill a fellow-hunter named Steve Wandell. Another ghost-hunter, Bobby, sees through him and ties him under a Devil's Trap. But the exorcism is to no avail, because the demon locked itself in Sam's body through a binding mark. Only when Bobby burns the mark, does the demon leave.

Madison is a werewolf, but she is not aware of it. Neither is Sam, who falls in love with her. When she is found out, Sam tries to help her by killing the werewolf that bit her. But it doesn't work. So she asks Sam to kill her. With a breaking heart, he does what she begs of him.

The "angel" in reality is the ghost of a priest murdered on the steps of a church some time ago. He makes people kill criminals or would-be-criminals, saying it is God's will. Sam evokes the spirit of the murdered priest, who is put to rest with the help of another priest.

But the mystery surrounding the death of a boy, who tried to rape a girl (but was stopped by Dean and died in the same way, as other victims of the priest's ghost - a stake through his heart), remains.

Molly was a young woman, who 15 years earlier provoked a car accident, in which she died, killing also a local farmer. Each year, on the anniversary of this event, her ghost and that of the farmer haunt the highway. But Molly does not realise she is dead. Only when Sam and Dean tell her about it, does she accept it, and her ghost disappears into a beam of the morning light.

Dean is attacked by a djiin, who transports him into a dream life, where his mom is alive, his brother Sam is in a law school, and his father - a former softball player - died peacefully in his bed. But he realises that none of this is real and kills himself in order to wake up.

It turns out that he is a captive of a djinn, who feeds on his blood. With the help of Sam, he manages to free himself and kill the djinn.

Cold Oak is said to be so haunted that everybody abandoned it. Sam lands in this deserted place together with four other young people. It is from among these people that the demon is supposed to pick up the one, who will lead its army in the global war.

After Sam is abducted by the demon, Dean receives a call from Ash, who has something very important to tell him, but cannot do so on the phone. Dean agrees to come to the Roadhouse to talk to him in person. But when he arrives there, nothing is left of the Roadhouse: it burned down. Ash is dead and Ellen is missing. But in the next episode we find out that she has survived.

Answer: Jake

Jake is a soldier, who was promised by the yellow-eyed demon the leadership of the demoniac army, if he turns out to be the strongest one. After having eliminated the others, he finds himself face to face with Sam. They fight and Sam takes upper hand, but he chooses not to shoot Jake.

But when Sam turns around to greet the arriving Dean, Jake doesn't hesitate to stab him in the back.
