Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many queens competed in this season of "RuPaul's Drag Race"?

Answer: Twelve

This season, less queens and less weeks of competition ended up rounding out a shorter game, though it would also end up being the show's final season on the Logo network before it was picked up by VH1 and granted a larger production budget, so this oddity of a season ended up seeing only a dozen competitors enter the workroom and hit the runway.

While this did mean less time with the queens, it also meant for a much more refined competition where any wrong move could send them home.
2. During the first episode, the new queens had a photo shoot with all of the past winner save for one. Who was unable to return for the challenge?

Answer: Bianca Del Rio

The first episode of the season wasn't only the 100th episode of the show, but it saw the 100th queen enter the workroom for the competition. To celebrate, RuPaul asked the new drag racers to stand out in a photo shoot with the past seven reigning champions (plus Chad Michaels). Bianca Del Rio has a prior engagement, so they replaced her with a hired clown. Additionally, the queens needed to create outfits based on past "Drag Race" challenges. Kim Chi won with an outfit celebrating Season 3's 'Hair Ball' while Naysha Lopez was eliminated for failing to 'Drag on a Dime'.
3. In the second episode, two queens were sent home in a shocking double elimination following a lip sync to what iconic LGBTQ anthem?

Answer: "I Will Survive"

The second episode of the season was the queens' first chance to perform on the runway, and in this challenge they split into two groups to learn choreography for a "Pitch Perfect"-themed lip sync battle featuring a cappella RuPaul hits. What resulted was a win for team leader Chi Chi DeVayne and a 'Lip sync For Your Life' between lackluster performers Dax ExclamationPoint and Laila McQueen.

While anticipation was high considering the choice of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" for the lip sync, both queens failed to have any emotional connection with the song and Ru had no choice but to send both sashaying away.

It was the second double elimination in the show's history (the first being in season 5).
4. In the third episode of the season, which queen was brought back to compete again?

Answer: Naysha Lopez

At the end of the season's second episode, when Ru eliminated two more competitors from the competition due to their lackluster lip sync, it was on her insistence that a queen return to battle for the crown. While the competitors still in the competition theorized that it could be a returnee or a Miss Congeniality from a previous season, it ended up being the only other possible eliminated queen from their own-- Naysha Lopez-- who was eliminated all over again only two weeks later (in episode 4). Cynthia Lee Fontaine, eliminated in episode 3, would be brought back in season 9.
5. After the third runway of the season, queens were given the choice to lip sync in heels or in which other fashion?

Answer: Roller-skates

The third episode of the show saw ten queens splitting into groups of five to act out scenes satirizing the plot of the popular FOX TV show "Empire". While some queens excelled in their comedy, others flopped immensely, leading to a roller-skating runway in front of the judges. Cynthia Lee Fontaine went head-to-head in the lip sync at the end, and Robbie ended up staying for choosing to perform in wheels instead of heels.
6. Which of these was not a band name when the queens created New Wave-inspired musical numbers?

Answer: Kitty Girls

In the season's fourth episode, the queens split into three groups and created looks and songs to celebrate the eccentricities of New Wave music styles of the 1980s, and with Blondie's Debbie Harry and Chris Stein on the judging panel, they had to perform (lip sync) as their new personas in front of a live crowd. Ultimately, the three from Dragometry (Chi Chi DeVayne, Derrick Barry, and Naysha Lopez) failed to impress as much as the others and Naysha went home a second time in this competition, losing out to Chi Chi in an energetic lip sync to Blondie's "Call Me".
7. Bob the Drag Queen was crowned the winner of 'Snatch Game' this season for impersonating how many celebrities?

Answer: Two

While 'Snatch Game' is the ideal opportunity for queens to break out their best celebrity impersonations it also has the tendency to force others to fall flat. The episode turned out to be in Bob's wheelhouse; she performed as "Orange is the New Black's" Uzo Aduba before throwing everyone off their game impersonating a black Carol Channing.

After a 'Night of 1,000 Madonnas' theme during the runway, Bob won her second round of the competition and her hometown queen Acid Betty went home, portraying a less-than-thrilling Nancy Grace.
8. In week 6, the queens completed a makeover challenge, creating "Wizard of Oz" looks to be shared with the cast of what Lifetime TV show?

Answer: Little Women: LA

In addition to pairing up with "Little Women: LA" cast members, the remaining seven queens were associated with "Wizard of Oz" characters and told to make outfits for themselves and their women taking inspiration as 'Friends of Dorothy'. Oh yeah, and to make things more difficult they needed to create a 'Dancing in the Poppyfields' interpretive dance to perform on the runway after their walk.

After this round, Robbie Turner was sent home, leaving six queens in the race.
9. Which of these looks was not requested of the queens for the Book Ball in week eight?

Answer: Fantasy World Eleganza

Weeks seven and eight narrowed the field of queens from six to four, and while shady political ads got rid of Thorgy Thor in week seven, week eight saw Derrick Berry eliminated on the back of the annual 'ball' episode, where queens were required to create their own new looks themed around, in this case, books and their own lives. Amy and David Sedaris were brought in to guest judge as the girls crafted autobiographical looks and book couture while also preparing to perform a musical number inspired by the TV show "Strangers With Candy".
10. At the end of "RuPaul's Drag Race" season eight, who became 'America's Next Drag Superstar'?

Answer: Bob

In the final round of the season, the final four queens were brought together to perform for RuPaul's music video for "The Realness", and after the takes only three were expected to continue (the last would be edited out). After a final runway and a four-way lip sync to "The Realness" in what was left as the queens' best drag, Chi Chi DeVayne was eliminated on the main stage in fourth.

In front of a live audience, Cynthia Lee Fontaine was crowned 'Miss Congeniality' for the season while Bob the Drag Queen won the season over Kim Chi and Naomi Smalls.

She ended up taking home the $100,000 prize and the year's supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics.
