Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Episode 487: "The Falcon and the D'ohman". The fate of Ned and Edna's relationship is revealed through the results of the online poll held at the end of the previous season. Did the public vote for them to stay together?

Answer: Yes

The poll, known as "Nedna", is revealed during the episode when a new friend of Homer's from work, Wayne, disturbs a number of couples at night. One of these is Ned and Edna, who winks.
2. Episode 488: "Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts". Who agrees to take over Bart's education after Principal Skinner finally decides to give up on him?

Answer: Superintendent Chalmers

In an interesting twist, Superintendent Chalmers is added to the long list of educators who are fired after having dealings with Bart. Although this time it isn't Bart's fault: he is simply fired because Nelson's mother sues the school after he hurts himself on a field trip. Bart ends up helping get the Superintendent his job back.
3. Episode 489: "Treehouse of Horror XXII". Which Springfield resident, who has previously starred in Halloween episodes as the devil, is again shown out of character here by becoming a murderer in the story "Dial D for Diddily"?

Answer: Ned

Ned, thinking God is commanding him to kill people, murders Sideshow Bob, Patty and Selma (and one other unknown person he dumps in the lake). It turns out to be Homer pretending to be God.
4. Episode 490: "Replaceable You". Bart teams up with which brainy classmate to win the school science fair in this episode?

Answer: Martin

It is of course the class nerd, Martin. He helps Bart develop the Robopet, a robotic pet that everyone ends up loving, but backfires when it kills a resident of the nursing home and all the pets are taken into custody.
5. Episode 491: "The Food Wife". Does Marge give Homer a fake address in order to prevent him from coming to a posh restaurant?

Answer: Yes

Indeed, Marge shows a moment of surprising disloyalty to Homer after she dreams about the posh restaurant that she is visiting with Bart and Lisa. The three family members start up a food blog called "The Three Mouthketeers", and Homer feels left out. But, as is often the case, they make up at the end of the episode.
6. Episode 492: "The Book Job". A group of Springfield residents get together in an attempt to write a best-selling novel. Which of the following does NOT get involved?

Answer: Lenny

Lenny decides not to get involved as he is busy 'bonding with a monkey'. The group writes a book called "The Troll Twins of Underbridge Academy", but it gets changed at the last minute to "The Vampire Twins of Translyvania Prep" by the publisher.
7. Episode 493: "The Man in the Blue Flannel Pants". Which character, well known for his vast range of advertising products, launches a new brand of alcohol in this episode?

Answer: Krusty

The Simpsons host the launch party for Krusty's new brand, Absolut Krusty. This is the interesting result of a competition run by Krusty on his show.
8. Episode 494: "The Ten-Per-Cent Solution". Krusty's show is cancelled in this episode.

Answer: True

Krusty gets fired by his TV network after complaining about how many "Itchy and Scratchy" episodes are being shown. He also loses his agent. But in true "Simpsons" style, he wins back his show in the end.
9. Episode 495: "Holidays of Future Passed". In this 'flash-forward' episode we meet several characters in the year 2041. Do Bart and/or Lisa have any kids of their own?

Answer: Yes, they both do

This episode features a range of interesting future scenarios including "B-Mail" (a message delivered direct to one's brain), a frozen Grampa who gets thawed out for Christmas, and the return of Maude Flanders (in ghost form).
10. Episode 496: "Politically Inept, with Homer Simpson". After getting his own talk show, Homer is given the heavy responsibility of selecting a new Preidential nominee. For which party?

Answer: Republicans

Homer chooses right-wing rock star Ted Nugent, which many of his friends and family disapprove of. In the end he changes his mind, and gives up his talk show (which was titled "Gut Feeling with Homer Simpson").
11. Episode 497: "The D'oh-cial Network". In this episode, Sherri and Terri compete in a rowing event at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Answer: False

It is Patty and Selma who compete at the 2012 Games! This episode revolves around the launch of a new social media site, SpringFace, which causes havoc around Springfield.
12. Episode 498: "Moe Goes from Rags to Riches". What does Moe do with his best friend, a rag, at the end of this episode?

Answer: Throws it away

Moe realises that his rag (a talking rag, no less, voiced by Jeremy Irons) is no longer his only friend so he doesn't need it. It ends up living at the Simpson house, where Santa's Little Helper and Maggie enjoy it (although they sometimes fight over it).
13. Episode 499: "The Daughter Also Rises". Which two friends decide to bust myths around Springfield Elementary School?

Answer: Bart and Milhouse

Inspired by the TV show "MythCrackers", Bart and Milhouse decide to find out whether pressing "E8" on the candy vending machine will cause an electric shock, among other things. In an interesting side story, Lisa falls for an intellectual boy called Nick, who is into literature and arts just like her.
14. Episode 500: "At Long Last Leave". Who gets kicked out of Springfield in this episode?

Answer: The whole Simpson family

The town has a secret meeting without the Simpsons, agreeing that Homer is too reckless, Bart is a vandal, Lisa is an annoying environmentalist, and Marge is too nice! The family moves into the Outlands, where eventually everyone in the town comes to join them, effectively relocating the entire town. Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, starred as himself in this milestone 500th episode.
15. Episode 501: "Exit Through the Kwik-E-Mart". Does Homer buy Marge a present that she actually likes in this episode?

Answer: Yes

Lisa is shocked but impressed to learn that Homer has bought Marge the Puree-Station 3 food processor, and he even gets it autographed by its maker. We also find out that Marge's birthday is March 19.
