Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Episode 324: "Mommie Beerest". The Simpsons make their last mortgage payment on their house, but Homer immediately takes out another one. Why?

Answer: To save Moe's bar from closing

Marge finds out about the mortgage of course, but reacts by joining Moe as a partner working at the bar. Moe finally declares his love for Marge, but being the faithful wife she is, she sticks with her Homer.
2. Episode 343: "Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass". Comic Book Guy is finally given a real name in this episode. What is it?

Answer: Jeff Albertson

Quite an average name given how long we had to wait to hear it! Nerve.com listed this reveal as one of the "jumping the shark" moments of the show; that is, a moment where people start to realise it's in decline due to unrealistic plotlines (taken from when Fonzie jumps a shark on water skis in "Happy Days").
3. Episode 344: "Pranksta Rap". Bart is kidnapped in this episode.

Answer: False

Bart fakes his own kidnapping to get out of a punishment for going to a rap concert without permission.
4. Episode 345: "There's Something About Marrying". Which character is revealed to be gay in this episode?

Answer: Patty

The episode received much media attention, as it focuses on the issue of gay marriage. Patty is to marry another woman; but it is not to be as 'she' turns out to be a man pretending to be a woman so he could play on the women's golf tour. The episode even led bookmakers (in real life) to set odds against which character would be outed.
5. Episode 346: "On a Clear Day I Can't See My Sister". After Lisa gets a restraining order against Bart, he can't come within 20 feet of her. But at the end of the episode, Judge Harm changes this to what?

Answer: 200 feet

Bart insults Judge Harm by accident, meaning Marge's attempt to remove the order actually increases the distance! At the end of the episode, we are shown many of the good things Bart has done for Lisa over the years, and she forgives Bart.
6. Episode 347: "Goo Goo Gai Pan". Was this episode banned in China?

Answer: Yes

Homer refers to Mao Zedong as being "like a little angel who killed 50 million people". The Chinese Government were offended by this line and it has never been shown there. The episode revolves around Selma's adoption of a Chinese child, following her realisation that she will never give birth naturally.
7. Episode 348: "Mobile Homer". What is the money Homer spends on the mobile home (RV) originally meant for?

Answer: Homer's life insurance

Homer is denied life insurance after he gives away too many details about his poor health (including boasting about smoking, which for some reason he thinks will help the cause). Bart and Lisa end up driving the RV in an attempt to return it and get the money back (and save their parents' marriage in the process, not for the first time).
8. Episode 349: "The Seven-Beer Snitch". At the start of the episode the Simpsons go and see a musical in which nearby town (that derides the town of Springfield in its lyrics)?

Answer: Shelbyville

As a result, Springfield decides to build its own opera house, which quickly goes broke. The solution: turn it into a prison! Homer naturally ends up as an inmate (due to an archaic law about kicking a can down the street) and quickly becomes the prison snitch.
9. Episode 350: "Future-Drama". Which crossover character from "Futurama" appears in this "Simpsons" episode?

Answer: Bender

Bender the robot appears, and is voiced by the "Futurama" actor (John DiMaggio). The episode is set in the year 2013 and shows Bart and Lisa preparing for high school graduation.
10. Episode 351: "Don't Fear the Roofer". This episode revolves around a character (played by Ray Romano) that we can't quite work out is real or not. Does he turn out to be a real person?

Answer: Yes

Ray Mangini helps Homer fix his roof. Due to a large number of strange coincidences, no one has seen or met Ray. However, it turns out he does exist.
11. Episode 352: "The Heartbroke Kid". Who has an obesity problem in this episode due to eating and drinking too many vending machine snacks?

Answer: Bart

Bart ends up at fat camp after suffering a heart attack, but he sneaks food in there too. In order to pay for fat camp, Homer and Marge take in some German tourists. Homer performs his version of "99 Luftballoons" for them in a hilarious scene.
12. Episode 353: "A Star Is Torn". Which character enters the "Lil Starmaker" singing competition and has Homer as their manager?

Answer: lisa

Lisa and Homer have an argument over his aggressive approach, and she fires him. He then agrees to manage one of her competitors, Cameron. But in the end Lisa wins after singing a song about Homer (as an apology) and Homer sabotages Cameron's entry. Sweet stuff!
13. Episode 354: "Thank God, It's Doomsday". What method does Homer use to predict the date of the rapture?

Answer: Numerology

We are left wondering at the end whether or not the rapture actually happens. It is apparently a dream, but Homer's final wish in his negotiations with God are that Moe's is restored to its former state... and Moe had previously sold it to a Japanese company as a sushi bar.
14. Episode 355: "Home Away from Homer". Ned Flanders moves to a new city called Humbletown in this episode. All is well until his new boss asks him to do what?

Ned stands by his 'nose neighbor' and refuses. He ends up leaving Humbletown and returning to Springfield, where he is greeted with a big street party to welcome him home.
15. Episode 356: "The Father, the Son, and the Holy Guest Star". When Bart attends a Catholic school, who decides to convert to Catholicism alongside him?

Answer: Homer

After the school hosts a pancake dinner and Bingo game, Homer decides this Catholic thing might be OK. Marge and Reverend Lovejoy, in the meantime, do everything they can to coax Homer and Bart back into what they call the "one true faith": The Western Branch of American Reform Presbylutheranism.
16. Episode 357: "Bonfire of the Manatees". Marge meets environmentalist Caleb Thorn in this episode, voiced by which Baldwin brother (making his second appearance on the show)?

Answer: Alec

Marge joins the quest to save the manatees after she leaves Homer following an argument. But in the end, she decides that her home life is more important, looking after the "most endangered species of all: a devoted husband".
17. Episode 358: "The Girl Who Slept Too Little". What kind of museum is being built next to the Simpson's house?

Answer: Stamp museum

After a protest involving many townspeople, the stamp museum is moved to the cemetery, and the cemetery is moved next door to the Simpsons. Lisa has trouble sleeping as her room overlooks it. But in the end she spends a night there and overcomes her fear.
18. Episode 359: "Milhouse of Sand and Fog". What infectious disease spreads round the town in this episode?

Answer: Chicken pox

Homer holds a 'pox party' where he charges $15 entry, the idea being that everyone is exposed to the chicken pox as a child to produce immunity in later life (when it can get very nasty). But Homer, after drinking from Maggie's bottle, also catches it. Milhouse's parents reunite in this episode after a few margaritas.
19. Episode 360: "Treehouse of Horror XVI". In the story "Survival of the Fattest", who is hunting Homer and his friends for sport?

20. Episode 361: "Marge's Son Poisoning". Bart and Marge bond in this episode. Which of the following activities do they NOT do together?

Answer: Go to the movies

21. Episode 362: "See Homer Run". Homer becomes which mascot in this episode?

Answer: Safety Salamander

Homer also runs for mayor in this episode. Of the 200 candidates in the running, no one is able to win the position over the incumbent, Mayor Quimby. We also learn the name of the Crazy Cat Lady in this episode; it is Eleanor Abernathy.
22. Episode 363: "The Last of the Red Hat Mamas". Who tutors Lisa in Italian?

Answer: Milhouse

Milhouse learned Italian from his grandmother in Tuscany, who refused to speak English. We also find out that Luigi can't speak Italian, just the fractured English his parents spoke at home!
23. Episode 364: "The Italian Bob". Sideshow Bob finally makes peace with Bart and his family in the episode, and promises never to try and harm any of them again.
