Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the opening credits, the riffs begin straight away. What does Tom Servo call the movie's "A.I. Productions"?

Answer: "Amazingly Idiotic Productions"

Wo-oh, right out of the gate! Tom Servo says this during the famous "dum-da-da-da-dum" opening sequence. The movie is written, produced and directed all by the same poor guy, David Winters.
2. It's clear early on that the "space" sequences are too high-quality to be a part of this turkey. What TV show or movie did the producer 'borrow' them from?

Answer: Battlestar Galactica

You can see the name of the ship from the seventies series "Battlestar Galactica" in several shots. Although a lot of the movie is clearly ripped off of "Star Wars" as well, including some character names.
3. We are soon introduced to the fabulous captain of the 'futuristic space ship.' Who do Mike and the bots continually refer to him as?

Answer: Santa Claus

Poor Cameron Mitchell, the only real actor that this movie has, was forced to wear a beard that was so cheesy it made him look like a very dumb Santa Claus. The second mate, Deevers, is a dead ringer for Sting.
4. The head bad guy of the movie is an oily fellow called Kalgan. Yes, Kalgan. What are his fellow bad guy followers (they are a colorful bunch!) known as?

Answer: The Enforcers

The Enforcers include Kalgan, guy with mohawk, lobster boy, crippled guy and a bunch of others that look like the Oakridge Boys!
5. What is Kalgan's first name?

Answer: Elijiah

You have to watch the credits or see the original to catch it. John Phillip Law, the actor who played Kalgan, also appeared in the "MST3K" thriller "Diabolik."
6. Ryder, the beefy hero of the movie, is called a slew of descriptive nicknames by the bots. Which of these is NOT among them?

Answer: Crunch RockHard

Ha, Ha! You thought Bob Johnson had to be right, didn't you? But actually Crow "accidentally" calls him this on a tyrade. Why, though, is anyone's guess...
7. What less-than-manly feature did Ryder unfortunately have?

Answer: feminine scream

He screams several times in this thing, and it clearly sounds like a woman screaming! "My purse!," is Mike's response during one of these episodes.
8. Beef-head's (Ryder) love of choice was the Captain's daughter (or maybe his mother), Lea. Why is this ironic?

Answer: Cissy Cameron married Reb Brown (Ryder) in real life

Yep, she and Ryder really did fall in love somehow while making this and did end up marrying soon after. Incidently, this is the only movie Cissy Cameron ever made. Unless you count XXX rated movies, of which she made several.
9. A 'very' important plot point of the movie involves the fem-aliens known as the Bellarians. Who is the only Bellarian to be named?

Answer: Jennara

In an especially disturbing moment of the movie, Jennara sort of...hits on the ancient Santa Claus captain! She's supposedly doing some sort of mind-transfer, but it looks like...well, something else if you know what I mean...
10. Lt. Lamont, the flight commander, has one sort of interesting thing about her. What is it?

Answer: She is killed in one scene and comes back to life in another

Although Mike and the bots make several references to her being rather man-ish, she is clearly killed in the first golf-cart race scene, yet in the very next scene she can be seen working at her station. At the end of the movie, Crow asks if Beth Wilberham, the continuity director, can be legally sued.
