Answer: Skydiving

In Leg 5, teams departed from the fourth Pit Stop of the race at the Addo Elephant National Park near Port Elizabeth, South Africa and boarded planes to their next major city, Cape Town in the western regions of South Africa. Once there, they needed to take taxis to Dolphin Beach on the Cape Peninsula.

This was the Road Block. From here, both members needed to drive to a local airfield where one member would complete a tandem skydive and the other would remain at a landing spot with a flare. Team members completing this task included Matt, Tyler, Anastasia, Jeff, Alana, Dave, Renae, and Mo.

Answer: Intersection

After the Road Block, teams drove to Nobel Square at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town to encounter the first Intersection of "The Amazing Race Australia". Here, teams joined together to complete their next task which involved picking up a trailer from Kargo Warehouse in Cape Town, then driving a list of items to the Intyatyambo Orphanage in Khayelitsha.

The joined teams were Matt and Tom and Chris and Anastasia, Tyler and Nathan and Jeff and Luke, Alana and Mel and Dave and Kelly, and Sam and Renae and Mo and Mos.

After making their emotional delivery, teams were no longer Intersected.

Answer: Nine

After the Intersection, teams drove onward to their Detour selections, either 'Guns' or 'Rosé'. In 'Guns', teams drove to the Valley Gun Club where they needed to launch clay pigeons. Once the teammates knocked a combined nine pigeons out of the sky, they could continue. Matt and Tom, Jeff and Luke, Nathan and Tyler, and Mo and Mos did this one.

In 'Rosé', Chris and Anastasia, Dave and Kelly, Alana and Mel, and Sam and Renae headed to a local winery where they needed to bring a barrel to a vat of wine and fill the barrel using buckets.

Answer: Hourglasses

After the Detour, teams drove to the Atlantis Dunes outside of Cape Town and hopped onto some ATVs to search a marked area of desert. Here, there were fifteen baskets scattered on the course, three of which contained clues and the rest of which contained different hourglasses. Teams finding hourglasses needed to flip them over and wait out the time before continuing onward; one of these was a forty-five minute wait!

Answer: Mo and Mos

After the Atlantis Dunes task, teams drove back into Cape Town to the fifth Pit Stop of the race in front of the Rhodes Memorial. The first team to arrive was Tyler and Nathan, making this their second victory of the race. They won a $5,000 home entertainment system courtesy of Bing Lee for their first place finish. Pulling up the rear in this leg were Mo and Mos, who trailed the entire leg and were unable to overcome early setbacks.

They became the fourth team eliminated.

Answer: Amsterdam

Teams left the Pit Stop at Rhodes Memorial in Cape Town in the middle of the afternoon and were asked to make their way to the city of Amsterdam in The Netherlands, several thousand miles away. Once in this chilly capital city, teams were told to make their way into the city proper to enjoy two appelbollen (each) at Oud Hollands Gebakkraam.

The four teams that were able to do this the quickest received sleeper tickets for their first train ride out of Amsterdam that very evening.

Answer: Prague

Immediately after a quick bite to eat in Amsterdam, teams were given tickets for a fifteen hour train ride from Amsterdam's central station to Prague in the Czech Republic. The first four teams to eat their appelbollen received sleeper car tickets while the remaining three had regular seats. Upon their arrival, they taxied to a clue waiting outside the city's Powder Tower, also known as the Old City Gate, leading them to Charles Bridge where they would locate the next info they needed from inside a 'holey' statue.

Answer: Knight armour

Leaving the Charles Bridge, teams needed to complete a Detour task which involved either 'Chivalry' or 'Delivery'. In 'Chivalry', teams dressed in armour and searched Prague's Old Town Square for a man who would give them the key to a damsel's heart.

Then, they needed to give the key to a damsel waiting upon a nearby hotel balcony and she would give them their next clue. Dave and Kelly and Matt and Tom completed this. In 'Delivery', teams needed to find a city convent where they could find princesses in royal sedan chairs.

They then needed to carry the chairs to Old town Square, a fair distance, to receive their clue. Alana and Mel, Chris and Anastasia, Nathan and Tyler, Jeff and Luke, and Sam and Renae used their physical strength to do this one.

Answer: Three

After the Detour, teams received a Road Block clue asking players 'whose aim is true?' For this task, teams headed to a medieval village on the river's edge where the participating team member needed to use a bow and arrow to hit a clear target twice. Team members would be given forty arrows and a bullseye would equate to $50 which could be used later in the race. If they ran out of arrows they would have to take the four hour default penalty unless they could persuade another player to give over any spare arrows. Nathan, Chris, Dave, Matt, Luke, Alana, and Renae finished this task; Chris, Dave, and Luke won the $50 for their teams.

Answer: Alana and Mel

After the Road Block, teams were told to make their way to the sixth Pit Stop of the race waiting in front of the exquisite and expansive Prague Castle. For a second consecutive leg, Tyler and Nathan ended up taking first place winning themselves a $5,000 shopping spree at Kathmandu.

This was their third win overall. Despite some initial good luck, Alana and Mel were unable to keep up during the Detour and used every last arrow during the Road Block. Though Alana hit the target in the end, they couldn't catch up and became the fifth team eliminated.
