While picking up Mr. Pitt's racquet, Elaine runs into the woman that interviewed her at Doubleday Publishing in the first episode of the season. After telling Elaine that a job may be opening up at Doubleday, the woman spots Mr. Pitt's racquet. Elaine offers it to her for a while and decides to pick it up later.

The woman also says that Elaine has a lot of grace, something that she was told to have none of in "The Chaperone".

George shows Kramer a picture of Nina in the newspaper and tells him that despite the fact that she eats like there's no tomorrow, she's always thin. Kramer comments that she's likely bulimic and George begins to get worried.

Elaine points this out to Jerry after picking up the racquet and tells him to keep an eye out for it. At dinner that night, Jerry notices this. Meanwhile, George tries to prevent Nina, the model, from freshening up because he fears that she may also be throwing up in the bathroom. When she does go, George hears a 'bleh' sound from the bathroom.

In this pivotal episode, Kramer's name is revealed by his mother. In order to help George find out if his girlfriend is 'refunding', George forces Kramer to confront his past and visit his mother, who is a matron. Immediately after the encounter, George tells Elaine and Jerry that Kramer's name is Cosmo.

George plans for Babs to be in the womens bathroom in order to find out if Nina is throwing up after meals. Meanwhile, Elaine has trouble getting the tennis racquet back since Ms. Landis injured her tennis elbow. When she goes to Doubleday to pick it up, Ms. Landis begins weeping because she feels that she'll never be able to play tennis again.

When Jerry goes to pick Sandy up at her apartment, he meets Laura when he enters the apartment. Unlike Sandy, Laura laughs at all of Jerry's jokes and he finds it absurd that they're complete opposites. Jerry tells this to George and they decide to pull a switch. This way Jerry can switch roommates.

After hours of hard work, George and Jerry call it a night, but George immediately finds a way to beat the system. He tells Jerry to approach Sandy for a menage a trois with Laura. Jerry and George figure that Sandy will despise the idea and kick Jerry out of the apartment. Sandy will tell Laura who will feel flattered by her inclusion.

A few days later, Jerry will call Laura while Sandy is at work. Of course, the plan has flaws.

Kramer tries to patch things up with his mother and he asks her to quit her job as a matron so that they can go into business together. Babs decides to do this and George's plan is ruined. When he learns that Babs quit her job, he goes into the washroom when he hears someone throwing up. It turns out to be a different woman, and Nina breaks up with George.

Sandy is intrigued by the idea of the switch and George's plans go right down the drain. Jerry decides to break up with Sandy because he's not interested in becoming that kind of person. Meanwhile, Elaine tries to get Mr. Pitt's racquet back during Ms. Landis' lunch hour, but gets caught by her secretary.

In the end, Elaine still doesn't get the racquet, so Kramer lets her into Newman's apartment to get the same racquet. George yells at Kramer for the mishap at the restaurant, and when they get into Newman's apartment, he's with Babs. This is the last time that Babs is seen throughout the series.
