Zek faked his own death to see how Krax would deal with the situation. Krax and Rom try to kill Quark, however when Zek reappears, he is unhappy with Krax for trying to grab power, saying "You don't seize power... you accumulate it, quietly". This is Krax's only appearance in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine".

At Deep Space Nine, Quark found out about some artifacts she brought back and wanted to form a partnership so they could sell them for a big profit. Q, of course, saw no reason for Vash to shower her attentions on anyone but him.

After Grilka's drunken husband, Kozak, was accidentally killed in Quark's bar, she hatched a plot to gain the name of her husband's House for herself. It involved the 'Brek'tal' ritual, in which the killer of the head of a Klingon House gets the fortunes of the House, including the owner's wife. Quark learned about Klingon honor, politics and economics in this season three episode.

A Flaxian had been employed to poison the tailor, however Garak saw him coming and blew his own shop up to draw Odo into the investigation.
