Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the only building that can make all human soldiers?

Answer: Fort

The fort is a very powerful defensive building. However, you can only have one, and it can only be sent from the home city.
2. What does the "Revolution!" button do?

Answer: It revolts you from your home country

This is a quite interesting thing to do. If you revolt, you can't get any home shipments from your home city, but instead only from the "New World". You also have to select a politician, as if you were advancing an age.
3. Where do Russians get their infantry units from?

Answer: Blockhouse

The Russians are unique in that their "barracks" fires arrows like that of a war hut from "The War Chiefs".
Russian units are cheap and weak, and must be trained in groups.
4. If you select a berry bush and hold your mouse over the image, what is the description?

Answer: It wouldn't be "Age of Empires" without berry bushes.

Berry bushes are those bushes that provide food. "Age of Empires II," "Age of Empires III," and "Age of Mythology", all have them.
5. The Rodelero is armored poorly; it only absorbs 10% off-hand damage.

Answer: False

The Rodelero absorbs 40% off-hand damage, which is excellent, considering its speed. The Rodelero is a Spain-only unit unless you hire it as a mercenary.
6. Instead of Crossbowmen, the British have which of these?

Answer: Longbowmen

Longbowmen are more powerful then Crossbowmen. They have more hitpoints, and they fire faster.
7. The Falconet is an infantry unit.

Answer: False

The Falconet is a light artillery unit that does good damage to infantry and buildings. It is available in the third age.
8. If you upgrade your BRITISH Musketeers to guard level, what is their name?

Answer: Redcoat Musketeers

The British have better musketeers than many other civilizations. They are called Redcoat at guard level because many British soldiers wore red coats during the American Revolution.
9. What is the weakest infantry unit?

Answer: Strelet

The Strelet is a Russian skirmisher. It is cheap and weak, and can be quickly deployed in great numbers.
10. The measure of how much one has played the game is Experience Points and Home City level.

Answer: True

Experience Points come from playing the game. An advance in Home City level lets you choose more cards for your Home City shipments, thus giving you more in-game flexibility.
