Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Each of the four resources in "Star Wars Galactic Battleground" can be identified by colour. Which resource is purple?

Answer: Ore

Carbon is blue, food is orange/red, nova is green, and ore is purple. Ore is the rarest of the four resources. Ore patches are normally spread out and hard to find, and the patches you do find will normally not have much ore to extract from them. Ore is needed to create Fortresses, Walls, Turrets, and a few other buildings, as well as many defensive upgrades.
2. Which of the following is not a source of food?

Answer: Fallen Troopers

There are many forms of food in the game. There are Muja Fruit Bushes, Fish, Animals, Farms, and Aqua Harvesters. Muja Fruit Bushes do not regenerate, as well as fish, after being harvested. Animals can normally be found all over the map. Some animals are vicious and will attack workers if they are shot at.

Some animals, such as Rancors and Tusckcats, have no food value but will attack any unit that ventures near them. Many Animals, however, do have food value, and will die after one or two shots from a worker. Food value of a dead animal will drop steadily, so harvest it quickly. Even if you are harvesting food from an animal, it will still lose food value, so put as many workers you can spare onto one animal to get the most food out of it. Also, remember, animals only retain their food value when killed by a worker.

This means that if you used a military unit, such as a trooper, the dead animal would have no food value at all. Another form of food is Farms and Aqua Harvesters. Farms cost carbon, and once made by a worker, can be harvested. Only one worker can harvest from a farm at a time. Aqua Harvesters are the farms of the sea.

They are made and tended by Utility Trawlers.
3. Assuming you're playing as the Rebel Alliance. By how much would one Prefab Shelter increase your population limit?

Answer: Five

All civilizations have Prefab Shelters (although the Trade Federation does not need them and cannot build them in normal games). Prefab Shelters increase your population limit by five for each one you build, with the exception of the Galactic Republic, whose Prefab Shelters increase the population limit by six for each one built.
4. Animal Nurseries can hold certain animals. Which of the following can it NOT hold?

Answer: Tauntauns

When you venture near a Nerf or Bantha, they will become yours, meaning you can control them and tell them to move where you want them to. You could bring these animals to your base and slaughter them for their food value, or you could put them into an Animal Nursery. Nerfs and Banthas in Animal Nurseries will increase your food stocks over time.

The more Nerfs or Banthas you have in a Nursery, the larger your food income will be. You can have up to ten Banthas or Nerfs in one Nursery.
5. Power Cores are very nice buildings. They have a radius of power, and all building within that radius will receive power. If a building is not in the power radius of a Power Core, what will the operating efficiency of that building be?

Answer: Twenty-Five Percent

When a building is outside the range of a Power Core, they will create units and research technologies at only twenty-five percent efficiency. The few exceptions to this are the Command Center and the Fortress. Also, Shield Generators will not function at all with power. And alternate source of power is the Power Droid.

The Power Droid is Clone Campaigns only. It's made at the Power Core, and has a Power Radius of its own, although it's much smaller.
6. In a Standard Game, how many Holocrons can be found scattered across the map?

Answer: Five

A standard game is a player versus up to eight other human or computer players. One thing all the maps of a standard game have in common is five Holocrons. If the game type is Random Map, then if a player or a team has possession of all Holocrons a timer will be started. If it reaches zero, that player or team will win the match.
7. Only units from which building can pick up Holocrons?

Answer: Jedi/Sith Temple

Jedi/Sith Padawans, Jedi/Sith Knights, and Jedi/Sith Masters can all pick up and carry Holocrons. Once a Jedi or Sith has picked up a Holocron, he then has to garrison the Holocron in a Jedi/Sith Temple. The Holocron will then give you a steady flow of Nova Crystals. Jedi and Sith holding Holocrons have no offensive capabilities, so it is wise to send them with an escort or to remove opposition, such as hostile animals, on the trip to the Holocron.
8. What building is needed to create a farm?

Answer: Food Processing Center

A Food Processing Center costs 100 Carbon, and 50 Carbon after that to seed each Farm. Farms are sources of Food. And once a Farm's Food value has been depleted, you may have a worker reseed it for another 50 Carbon, or let it be, in which case, it will disappear after a short duration of time.

The Food value of a Farm can be increased by researching technologies at the Food Processing Center. There is one technology for each tech level except the first.
9. How much food does it cost to upgrade to Tech Level 2?

Answer: Five Hundred

In addition to 500 Food, you must have at least three different Tech Level 2 buildings constructed. Food may be hard to come by early in the game, as each worker costs 50 Food. However, if you have enough workers on Farming, Harvesting, etc, and/or have Nerfs or Banthas in an Animal Nursery, then you should find that your Food stores will increase at a steady and fast rate.
10. What is a Cargo Hovercraft considered as?

Answer: A Worker

A Cargo Hovercraft is a useful unit. If you are playing a game in which you have allies, you might want to consider making a few. Cargo Hovercrafts will travel from your Spaceport, where they're made, and go to the ally Spaceport you tell them to. Once at the ally Spaceport, they will pick up a canister, which they'll bring back to your base. Each time a Hovercraft makes a trip you gain Nova Crystals.

This does not cost your ally anything; you just get the Nova for having a Cargo Hovercraft make the trip.

The farther away the two Spaceports are, the larger to amount of Nova you will gain for each trip made. Hovercrafts can float over water, lava, and even space, but a low flying machines, and can therefore, be attacked by land units, such as troopers and mechs. Cargo Hovercrafts don't have much armor or shielding, and will normally take the most direct rout to their destination, so it would be wise to protect your trade lanes to ensure their safety.
