Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Strike Mechs can be upgraded into Mech Destroyers.

Answer: False

There are four different units you can make at a Mech Factory. The first is the Scout, which is the only mech you can make in Tech Level 2. It is fast, but lacks firepower and armor. It is not meant to accompany any strike forces you may send at your enemies, nor is it meant to be part of your primary base defense.

Its line of sight is limited, so you'll have to send it out a lot if you want to uncover as much of the map as you can with it. In an engagement, you may to be lucky if you could get the attention of a hostile unit in order to draw it into the range of a turret or apply it for some similar strategy.

The next unit in the Mech factory is the Strike Mech. The Strike Mech acts as an armored, heavily armed trooper. However, it does have a minimum range, meaning if a hostile units gets to close, the Strike Mech will have to run away to get the enemy unit in range. If the enemy unit persists and continues to follow the Strike Mech, it will have a hard time destroying its target. Troopers are cheaper and have a higher rate of fire compared to the Strike Mech, and no minimum range.

The next unit is the Mech Destroyer. The Mech Destroyer is to the Strike Mech as the Strike Mech is to the Trooper. It has, again, more firepower and armor, but is more expensive and has a slower rate of fire. You can also garrison up to one small unit in a Mech Destroyer (such as a Jedi or a Trooper). The last Mech is the Assault Mech which is heavily armored, has a massive amount of fire power (with splash damage, so keep friendly units away from the Assault Mech's target), is more expensive, again, but there is another feature. Up to ten small units can ride in an Assault Mech, which provides them an armored vehicle for transportation, and when they unload, they will have an Assault Mech backing them up. Just be careful: Assault Mechs are good against buildings, and single ground units. However, they will not stand much of a chance against air units, or a swarm of small units such as Troopers or Strike Mechs. The last three Mech Factory units can be upgraded to 'heavy' versions of their original form. Strike Mechs will become Heavy Strike Mechs, Mech Destroyers will become Heavy Mech Destroyers, and Assault Mechs can be upgraded into Heavy Assault Mechs.
2. What is the seaworthy version of a Worker?

Answer: Utility Trawler

A Utility Trawler can't do as much as a Worker, but it is still helpful. It can gather fish from water that normal Workers could not reach from the shore. It can also build Sensor Buoy, the sea version of a Sentry Post, and an Aqua Harvester, which is the sea version of a Farm. That's all most Utility Trawlers can do, but the Gungan Utility Trawler can also build Underwater Prefab Shelters.
3. You can upgrade Jedi/Sith Padawans into Jedi/Sith Knights.

Answer: True

When you are first able to create a Jedi/Sith Temple in Tech Level 2, the only unit you can make there is the Jedi/Sith Padawan. In Tech Level 3 you can upgrade your Padawans to Knights. In Tech Level 4 some civilization can create Jedi/Sith Masters as separate units. Masters cost more than Knights, but have more options when it comes to turning units. Masters can turn buildings and heavy weapons to their side.

This is particularly nice, if you have at least two Masters, if you could enter an engagement and turn over a Shield Generator and a Power Core, your enemies will lose their shielding while those in the Shield Generators range will gain shields. Also, if you can take over some enemy units, such as Assault Mechs, your opponent will lose his/her heavy hitters, and your forces will be bolstered. If you take over a transport with enemy units in it, your opponent will not be able to unload them.

This means that you can drop a unit out one at a time and turn it, or you can just hold it there to fill up your opponent's population with useless units. You do not need housing when you turn units to your side, although they will take up space. You may have 150/150 population, but you will still be able to turn units to your side, although it will change to 151/150.
4. What are Bounty Hunters especially good against?

Answer: Jedi/Sith

Bounty Hunters are Fortress units. They are relatively powerful in general; they are especially strong against Jedi/Sith. Where it would take many shots from a Trooper or a Strike Mech, the Bounty Hunter has to fire only a few shots to drop a Jedi/Sith. Also, Bounty Hunters can't be turned by Jedi or Sith, making Jedi/Sith quite vulnerable when facing Bounty Hunters.
5. What are Destroyers especially good against?

Answer: Ships

Destroyers are good against ships and not much else. They act like a pummel, where they have no range but a high attack. Destroyers sail up to an enemy ship and use laser cutters to destroy it. Destroyers can be easily destroyed by enemy fire from land units, as most of the time the Destroyer will not be able to attack back. Destroyers also have no anti-air abilities, so whenever you use them, be sure you have supporting units. Destroyers are best used when there's a good chance there will be enemy ships. To create Destroyers to defend you base from a potential sea attack would not be advisable, as most attacks will come on land or air. Also, if you do have other military units, you should be able to take care of an aquatic assault with relative ease.
6. You can upgrade Jedi/Sith Knights into Jedi/Sith Masters.

Answer: False

You can upgrade Padawans into Knights, but you cannot upgrade Knights into Masters. Masters have more armor and HP and can turn a wider variety of enemy units.
7. Which of the following units has two positions: one for attacking and one for moving?

Answer: Cannons

Cannons have the largest attack score in the entire game, with 200. They have to deploy themselves at the firing site, and although they do have a long range attack, you may find yourself undeploying them and redeploying them frequently to achieve their maximum value.

It would also be wise to have an escort for a cannon as they're not effective at close range. They have not attack score during the transition between the two positions or when they're in mobile mode, and in attack position, they have a large minimum range. Cannons are not the best when it comes to destroying mobile units, but can strip a building of its shields and destroy it quickly and efficiently.
8. Fighters have to upgrade to what before they can be upgraded to Advanced Fighters?

Answer: Fast Fighters

Standard Fighters can first be made at Tech Level 3, but come with very few upgrades. They can cut through swaths of troopers, even in small groups, but keep them away from anything with an anti-air attack, as they'll be cut to ribbons. Tech Level 4 upgrades allow you to upgrade them to Fast Fighters, and then to Advanced Fighters, and some civilizations can upgrade their fighters to give them shields and better armor.
9. From which building can you upgrade your turrets?

Answer: Research Center

The Research Center, for the most part, upgrades your buildings, although there are unit upgrades also. Laser and Anti-Air Turrets can be upgraded here, as well as walls and a number of other upgrades that can greatly increase your buildings' effectiveness.
10. Which unit can heal friendly units?

Answer: Medics

Medics can heal biological units only, but they do a good job of it. Depending on which civilization you're using, it may or may not be wise to get a lot of medics. If you're playing as the Trade Federation, whose only biological unit is the Sith Padawans/Knights, you may not want to pump out a bunch of medics, as they would fill up your population limit and they wouldn't do too much. If you were playing as the Gungans, though, who use biological units for almost everything, having a medic, or a group of medics with your attack force could keep it alive for a long time.
