Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following colours is not an option for your first lightsaber crystal?

Answer: Purple

The three original choices you have for lightsaber colour are Blue, Yellow, and Green. You are given a different colour depending on what class of Jedi you wish to be. Although you start with only one, you can find new crystals in a cave on Dantooine, and from the lightsabers of slain Dark Jedi. You can change your colour crystal at any workbench in the game.
2. Calo Nord was the bounty hunter that worked for Davik on Taris. You find out later that he survived the destruction of Taris and was hired by the Sith to hunt you down. When will he attack you?

Answer: Near your second Star Map

Calo Nord was a bounty hunter. You first met him on Taris when wandering about the Cantinas. He worked for Davik Kang, and tried to stop you from leaving Taris on the Ebon Hawk. Unfortunately for him, the Sith started their orbital bombardment, and he was trapped under debris.

He survived the destruction of Taris, though, and held a grudge against you, as the only people ever able to defeat him. The Sith hired him to track and kill you. He showed up around your second Starmap (Whether it be on Manaan, Kashyyyk, Korriban, or Tatooine). If it was on Kashyyyk or Korriban, then it would have been before you found the map. If you confronted him on Manaan or Tatooine, then it would have been after.

He also brought along some tough thugs to help him, but he was still pretty easy to defeat.
3. What is the name of the Republic Officer on trial on Manaan?

Answer: Sunry

Sunry was an elderly Republic officer. To activate the quest, you have to bring Jolee Bindo with you when on Manaan. He was an old friend of Sunry and his wife. You can investigate the murder and even bribe witnesses to alter their stories. In the end, if fully explored, you'll find that Sunry had been having an affair with a young Dark Jedi in the Sith ranks.

While Sunry was trying to convert her into a double agent, she was trying to get information out of him. Sunry decided to end it and shot her while she slept. Both sides tried to cover up their involvement, and it's up to you as arbiter to decide what the proper way to handle the case is.
4. Where can you find Bastilla's mother, Helena Shan?

Answer: Tatooine

Bastilla and Helena didn't get along too well. If you talk to Bastilla often enough, then she'll eventually talk about her mother. If you then travel to Tatooine, you can find Helena in the Cantina. She'll give you a quest, after a she and Bastilla argue. You can influence the conversation to either make the two women forgive or hate each other, resulting in Light Side and Dark Side points respectively.

The quest involves you running to the Krayt Dragon Cave (where you have to go anyway to get the Starmap) and searching the bodies until you find Bastilla's father's journal. You can either keep it, or give it to Helena.
5. Where can Rakghouls be found?

Answer: Taris

Rakghouls are vicious creatures that attack you in the Taris undercity. They have a poison that turns those who are bitten into Rakghouls themselves. The infected villagers are confined in a den, where they can fight and kill each other when they transform. You can find a Rakghoul serum, and bring it to Zelka Forn, a doctor in the Upper City, who can then reproduce it. You can then choose to give it to the villagers, or to give it to the crime lord, Davik Kang, for a price.
6. On Dantooine, you can find your first starmap, but only after you've answered two questions. From a list of six planetary types, you have to identify three life-giving seed worlds, and three death-giving seed worlds. Which of the following is not a death-giving world?

Answer: Oceanic

There are six world types given in the Dantooine temple: Oceanic, Arboreal, Grassland, Desert, Barren, and Volcanic. In the temple on Dantooine, you find two terminals. One will ask you to identify three life-giving worlds, and the other will ask for three death-giving worlds.

There is an example of each of these worlds in "Knights of the Old Republic" (minus Volcanic. The volcanic world, Sleheyron, was cut before the game was released).
7. Which of the following characters is alligned with the Dark Side?

Answer: HK-47

Most characters are aligned with the Light Side to varying degrees, with Mission Vao being the strongest. The only neutral character is T3-M4, an astromech droid. The two Dark Side characters are Canderous Ordo, the Mandalorian, and HK-47, the assassin droid built by Darth Revan. All character alignments are static with the exception of your own.

The one exception to this is Bastilla. Bastilla starts off on the Light Side, but will be captured by Malak on the Leviathan, and become his apprentice, changing her affiliation. You can join her, turn her back to the light, or kill her at the end of the game.
8. After Calo Nord's failure to kill you, Malak will send his apprentice to do the job properly. What was his name?

Answer: Darth Bandon

Darth Bandon is Darth Malak's apprentice. He is seen once at the beginning of the game on the Endar Spire. Trask Ulgo goes to fight him in order to buy you time to escape. Bandon, being a Dark Jedi, is quite a bit more difficult than Calo Nord. He is also flanked by lesser Dark Jedi when you fight him.

Darth Bane was a Sith Lord that rose to power two hundred years after the events in "Knights of the Old Republic". He was the master who introduced the Rule of Two in order to prevent infighting amongst the power-hungry Sith.
9. What is the name of the primates found on Kashyyyk, that are being hunted for their glands?

Answer: Tachs

Tachs are small primates found in the Shadowlands on Kashyyyk. Jolee Bindo was a fan of them, and was upset when poachers set up camp in the Shadowlands. He refused to help you until you removed them. In order to get rid of the poachers, you could either disable their sonic emitters, which would cause larger, more dangerous beasts to come and scare off the poachers, or you could help the poachers hunt for Tach until they had enough.

Gizka are small bipeds that infest your ship when you land on Tatooine. You can remove them by feeding one Gizka poison. If you don't kill them, they will leave the ship when you land on the Unknown World. When you are out looking for ship parts, a Gizka will hope along and detonate a mine.

Wraids can be found on Korriban and Tatooine. They are hunted for their plates, which can be worth quite a bit.

Firaxa, also known as Firaxin Sharks, are vicious indigenous creatures to Manaan. You encounter them when in the Hrakert Rift and can be killed by a sonic pulse, but only at close range.
10. Which of the following is not a guardian of a Star Map?

Answer: Rancor

Each of the Star Maps have some kind of protection. The one on Dantooine was guarded by droids and trivia questions. On Tatooine, the map was located at the end of a Krayt Dragon cave. Korriban's map was in the tomb of Sith Master Naga Sadow, which contains two Terentateks that you had to fight alone. Manaan's map was guarded by the Progenerator, a large Firaxin Shark that had been angered by the construction of the secret research facility near its home. You can either poison it, or destroy the base to appease it. Kashyyyk's map was guarded in a similar fashion to Dantooine's.

It had a computer interface that would judge a character's thought patterns and decide whether he/she was worthy of the Star Map. If you choose morally right answers, the computer will deny you access, and send two droids to attack you. If you defeat them, then the computer will grant you access to the Star Map.
