Question 1 of 10
1. "What's the best game out there?" Kyle asked.
"I wouldn't know where to begin," Salami replied. "You have decades of games to choose from."
"I've got it! Mario!" Kyle exclaimed.
"Which one though?"
"I'll let you guess."

Which role-playing game's final boss was not actually Bowser due to the fact that he was a playable character?
Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. "See, personally, I like a Mario game that isn't an actual adventure game. I just love trying to get those vitamins and pills down in the right spots," claimed Salami.
"Oh yeah, which game is that?" replied Kyle.
"You should know this Kyle! I'll give you a moment to think of what I'm talking about."

What game does Salami enjoy playing?
Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. "You know what? I retract my first idea," Kyle interrupted.
"But you already decided on a Mario game," Salami replied. "What happened to that?"
"I just think that spending time with a weighted companion cube on the everlasting hunt for cake is much more rewarding in the long run."
"What?" Salami asked confusedly.

What game is Kyle referring to, where the player character's name is 'Chell'?

Answer: (One Word)
Question 4 of 10
4. "Probably my all time favorite game, then," Salami continued, "has got to be "Kingdom Hearts"."
"Why is that, Salami?" Kyle questioned.
"Well, it is a long game that keeps you interested. My personal favorite part is in the garage with Chip and Dale."
"Oh yeah, what part is that?"
"I won't tell you, but can you tell me what ship they used?"
Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. "Speaking of Playstation games, I have to say that I was wrong. "Silent Hill" is probably the best game," Kyle reasoned.
"Nuh-uh!" Salami argued.
"I beg to differ."

Which "Silent Hill" game was actually set in the town of South Ashfield, as opposed to within Silent Hill itself?
Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. "If we are now onto the Playstation, I have a game for you."
"Oh yeah, what's that Salami?"
"Well, it is a game that was made for the Playstation 2, and was never made into a sequel, even though the first one gave reason to. It finally had a sequel released in Paris in May 2008, but was only for the PS3. This has disappointed many players in Paris. The main character's name is Jade, and she works with her uncle, Pey'J. What video game is this, Kyle?"
"Oh, I have played that game time and time again. Give me some time, and I will come up with it."
Can you help Kyle figure out what game this is?
Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. "If any game were out there to satisfy the masses," Kyle began, "I'd put my money on "Guild Wars" for the PC."
"But "World of Warcraft" gets more players, Kyle", Salami argued.
"Ah, but this game has better graphics, and there's less menial questing."

How many campaigns (excluding "Eye of the North") can "Guild Wars" players run?
Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. "Ok, Kyle. If you want to go on to online games," Salami began, "I have one for you. On this site, you can play many games and earn tokens. The tokens can win you prizes at the end of each week. The main character on the site that acts as the mascot is a shirtless Australian. What is this site?"
"What? I don't the slightest idea!" Kyle replied
"Mwahahaha! That's the point, Kyle. It is a pretty famous site, though."

What could these games be?
Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. "If I picked "The Legend of Zelda", it'd be too obvious," Kyle said.

"Possibly, but I have one that' just as good on the PC: "Myst"."

Other than PC, which system is "Myst" playable on?
Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. "Oh yeah, you have a few quizzes about "Myst," don't you?" Salami responded. "Well, it probably comes to no surprise that I like "Sly Cooper", but which one is my favorite?"
"Wait, you've told me this before." Kyle said. "It's the one with Rajan, right?"
"Correct. It's the one whose subtitle is "Band of Thieves". Come on, Kyle, you know this! Which one is it?"

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "What's the best game out there?" Kyle asked. "I wouldn't know where to begin," Salami replied. "You have decades of games to choose from." "I've got it! Mario!" Kyle exclaimed. "Which one though?" "I'll let you guess." Which role-playing game's final boss was not actually Bowser due to the fact that he was a playable character?

Answer: Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES)

"Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" was one of the final games released on the Super Nintendo console, but it was, by far, one of the most popular role-playing games for the system. In a 3D world, Mario, Princess Toadstool, Bowser, and others combined their skills to overthrow the antagonist of the game, Smithy, who had taken up residence in Bowser's Castle. To do this, however, Mario and the gang had to encounter various pitfalls and bad situations around the Mushroom Kingdom from the ghosts in the sea to the evil henchmen in the Forest Maze, as well as the evil dragon in Barrel Volcano and the problem facing the cloud people of Nimbus Land.

The game featured many trademark Mario items, moves, and characters, though it introduced many characters, playable and not, that didn't appear in games after the fact. The makers of "Super Mario RPG" also created "Final Fantasy VII", perhaps the most popular title on the original Playstation system, and nearly every Playstation "Final Fantasy" game since until it merged to create Square Enix. Since the merger, they created "Kingdom Hearts", "Star Ocean", and "Dragon Quest" games as well.
2. "See, personally, I like a Mario game that isn't an actual adventure game. I just love trying to get those vitamins and pills down in the right spots," claimed Salami. "Oh yeah, which game is that?" replied Kyle. "You should know this Kyle! I'll give you a moment to think of what I'm talking about." What game does Salami enjoy playing?

Answer: Dr. Mario

"Dr. Mario" was released in 1990 for both the Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES, and the Gameboy. The game is like "Tetris", but instead of lining up blocks to make rows, you must make vertical rows of four of each color vitamin to kill a virus. Once you stack at least three vitamins on to make four, the virus disappears, as does the vitamins in the row.

The game uses only three colors of viruses and vitamins, red, yellow, and blue.
3. "You know what? I retract my first idea," Kyle interrupted. "But you already decided on a Mario game," Salami replied. "What happened to that?" "I just think that spending time with a weighted companion cube on the everlasting hunt for cake is much more rewarding in the long run." "What?" Salami asked confusedly. What game is Kyle referring to, where the player character's name is 'Chell'?

Answer: Portal

Created in 2007, Valve's smash hit, "Portal", became an overnight success. Hyped as part of the "Half-Life 2 Orange Box" set (along with "The Orange Box", "Team Fortress 2", and previous episodes of the "Half-Life" series), "Portal" was comedic, puzzling, fun, difficult, catchy, clever, and quick, all at once. The game won't take most players more than six hours, but what a beautiful six hours it is. "Portal" follows Chell at the Aperture Science Laboratories Enrichment Center as she is used to test out the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, which essentially makes portals. In the beginning, it seems easy. One portal to maintain, and all Chell needs to do is enter the elevator on the other end of the floor. Soon, though, Chell gets a second portal to use, and she needs to avoid rogue turrets and other concoctions drummed up by the computer antagonist known only as GLaDOS (a Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System). Soon, Chell will come to realize that no one ever finishes all of the test chambers in the Aperture Science Labs, and that there may be no cake on the sunny horizon.
"Portal" became one of the highest-scoring PC games of 2007 winning many "Game of the Year" awards, and since its release, has had its quotes become internet memes.
Just remember: The cake is a lie.
4. "Probably my all time favorite game, then," Salami continued, "has got to be "Kingdom Hearts"." "Why is that, Salami?" Kyle questioned. "Well, it is a long game that keeps you interested. My personal favorite part is in the garage with Chip and Dale." "Oh yeah, what part is that?" "I won't tell you, but can you tell me what ship they used?"

Answer: Gummi Ship

"Kingdom Hearts" was introduced on the Playstation in 2002. It was followed by "Kingdom Hearts 2", and there is a game on the Gameboy Advance that takes place in between the two times. In the Gummi Ship, you can navigate your way through and destroy enemies to get points. You can even build your own Gummi Ship to your likings, and have it as fast, as powerful, and as invincible as you want, but it does cost you money, and you only have a certain amount of money to spend on each Gummi Ship.
5. "Speaking of Playstation games, I have to say that I was wrong. "Silent Hill" is probably the best game," Kyle reasoned. "Nuh-uh!" Salami argued. "I beg to differ." Which "Silent Hill" game was actually set in the town of South Ashfield, as opposed to within Silent Hill itself?

Answer: Silent Hill 4: The Room

Originally released on the Playstation 2, Xbox, and PC, "Silent Hill 4: The Room" followed Henry Townshend, a resident of South Ashfield Heights, a small apartment building in the main setting. Henry has been locked into his apartment (the door is literally chained shut), and after a while, a mysterious tunnel appears in his bathroom, and crawling into this, Henry finds different Silent-Hill-esque locations ranging from train stations to foggy forests. All the while, the events around him in these 'dreamworlds' parallel murders being performed in the real world, and he soon realizes that he and his neighbour, Eileen, may be on the chopping block next as antagonist, Walter Sullivan, makes his 21 kills. "Silent Hill 4" was meant to deviate from the original three games of the series and create somewhat of a spin-off, however future titles for the system returned to the haunted town- especially after the release of the 2006 "Silent Hill" film, based on the series.
6. "If we are now onto the Playstation, I have a game for you." "Oh yeah, what's that Salami?" "Well, it is a game that was made for the Playstation 2, and was never made into a sequel, even though the first one gave reason to. It finally had a sequel released in Paris in May 2008, but was only for the PS3. This has disappointed many players in Paris. The main character's name is Jade, and she works with her uncle, Pey'J. What video game is this, Kyle?" "Oh, I have played that game time and time again. Give me some time, and I will come up with it." Can you help Kyle figure out what game this is?

Answer: Beyond Good and Evil

"Beyond Good and Evil" was first released in 2002 for the PS2 and the PC. It was very popular, and when it was not made into a sequel, many players were mad. They finally decided to make a sequel, but to many players disappointment, it was not accessible for the PS2. Pey'J (pronounced 'Page') is Jade's uncle, yet he is a hog, and she is human.

She travels through to defeat evil forces and take pictures of wildlife for some extra cash. She also collects pearls, and can use those to her advantage throughout the game.
7. "If any game were out there to satisfy the masses," Kyle began, "I'd put my money on "Guild Wars" for the PC." "But "World of Warcraft" gets more players, Kyle", Salami argued. "Ah, but this game has better graphics, and there's less menial questing." How many campaigns (excluding "Eye of the North") can "Guild Wars" players run?

Answer: Three

"Guild Wars", following "World of Warcraft" is one of the most popular MMORPGs to be released on PC, with more than four million players. The concept is simple: you don't pay to play, but you get a great series of games, expandable, yet stand-alone, that are similar to other MMOs, but with less grinding and a fair amount for PvP and PvE players alike.

The original game, "Guild Wars: Prophecies" featured six different professions, and each additional campaign, "Factions" and "Nightfall" respectively, added two more while taking players across new lands and storylines.

Despite these stand-alone releases, players could take their current characters to each of the continents, and play through all of the missions and locations as normal without any continuity problems.

A full-fledged expansion, "Eye of the North", was released in 2007 to bridge the gap between the first "Guild Wars" game, and what the creators, ArenaNet and NCSoft, had in store for players in the actual sequel. NCSoft is also responsible for making the popular "Lineage 2" and "City of Heroes/Villains", and the less-popular "Tabula Rasa", all of which are for PC as well.
8. "Ok, Kyle. If you want to go on to online games," Salami began, "I have one for you. On this site, you can play many games and earn tokens. The tokens can win you prizes at the end of each week. The main character on the site that acts as the mascot is a shirtless Australian. What is this site?" "What? I don't the slightest idea!" Kyle replied "Mwahahaha! That's the point, Kyle. It is a pretty famous site, though." What could these games be?

Answer: Ezone

"Ezone" is a place where the shirtless Australian, known as Lenny Loosejocks, takes you through the site to play all sorts of games. There are hundreds of free games, including the most famous Lenny game, "Lenny Loosejocks' Walkabout." In this game, you walk around in Down Under and try to find puzzle pieces and games to play. You can't win until you have found all of the pieces and won all of the games.

There are many more Lenny Loosejocks games, and you win points for each game you complete, and different amounts depending on how good you do.
9. "If I picked "The Legend of Zelda", it'd be too obvious," Kyle said. "But wouldn't that constitute your 'best game'?" Salami asked in response. "Possibly, but I have one that' just as good on the PC: "Myst"." Other than PC, which system is "Myst" playable on?

Answer: Nintendo DS

"Myst" was the top-selling PC of all time until it was overthrown by "The Sims", but it's easy to see why. An addictive puzzle game, "Myst" allowed players to stretch their minds and navigate six different ages to free Atrus from his prison within a linking book, which is somewhat of a portal. "Myst" spawned numerous sequels, and the DS version, released in 2008, featured an additional age in the game. "Riven", "Myst's" first sequel, was released with more enhanced graphics and much larger worlds to explore. The publishers of "Myst", Broderbund software, originally made the "Carmen Sandiego" series, and since then, they have become defunct, somewhat merging with The Learning Company, who make educational games. Future "Myst" games were made by Cyan and Ubisoft, and have since sold twelve million copies worldwide.

The series also has numerous tie-in novels made by series creator Rand Miller, who plays the character of Atrus in the series.
10. "Oh yeah, you have a few quizzes about "Myst," don't you?" Salami responded. "Well, it probably comes to no surprise that I like "Sly Cooper", but which one is my favorite?" "Wait, you've told me this before." Kyle said. "It's the one with Rajan, right?" "Correct. It's the one whose subtitle is "Band of Thieves". Come on, Kyle, you know this! Which one is it?"

Answer: Sly 2

"Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus" was the first in the trilogy, and was made in 2002. In 2004, "Sly 2: Band of Thieves" was released on the Playstation 2. All three games come for the PS2 only. The final in the trilogy was released in 2005. It is called "Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves".
