Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What colour uniform is used by normal security prisoners?

Answer: Orange

Minimum security prisoners have grey uniforms, maximum security prisoners have orange-red uniforms, supermax prisoners have dark red uniforms. Protective custody prisoners have yellow uniforms and death row prisoners have black uniforms.
2. What company made "Prison Architect"?

Answer: Introversion Software

The company was founded in 2001 by only three people: Mark Morris, Chris Delay and Thomas Arundel. "Prison Architect" was their sixth game developed.
3. How many different gangs are there in the game?

Answer: Three

These gangs include the red, green and blue gangs. Gang leaders will recruit more members into the gangs as well as lieutenants. Lieutenants are able to organise attacks on yards and common rooms in order to claim them. Once an area is claimed, prisoners will have to pay in order to enter. Money generated from this can be used by the gangs to pay for contraband, such as weapons. Gang members do not work in the prison, and they won't do any voluntary reform programs.
4. How many different types of doors are there in the game?

Answer: Seven

These doors include the door, jail door, large jail door, staff door, solitary door, road gate and remote door. The solitary door is the strongest, but all of the door serve their own individual purpose. Prisoners can only open the normal door. If they want to pass through any other door, they need a guard to open it for them. Alternatively, doors are able to be locked open.
5. What is the name for the unlockable type of prisoner that wears black and you can execute?

Answer: Death Row

The whole execution part of "Prison Architect" was made optional by the developers of the game and needs to be unlocked through the bureaucracy tab. This was done because the developers believed that Death Row would be too disturbing/immoral for some players.
6. Which of these is NOT a type of emergency service that you can call when you need it?

Answer: Disaster Recovery Squad

Added in Alpha 10, the emergency services can be used at any point during the game and will arrive in a truck. Firemen come along with hoses to suppress any fires in the prison. Riot guards come with armour and a baton to subdue any rioting prisoners. Paramedics automatically seek out any injured staff and inmates and are not afraid of rushing into riots.
7. How many tiles do small pipes carry water for in a single direction?

Answer: 39

While large pipes are able to transport water over an unlimited number of tiles, the smaller ones can only go up to 39. However, the smaller ones are harder for prisoners to tunnel through and are much cheaper.
8. Which of these is NOT somewhere that prisoners will target while rioting?

Answer: Kitchen

While some prisoners will still go into the kitchen, this is more to kill the chefs. They don't specifically target the kitchens though. They go to Protective Custody in order to kill any inmates in there. They go to the armoury to get weapons and they go outside of the prison to escape.
9. Which of these is NOT a game mode inside of "Prison Architect"?

Answer: Virtual Reality Mode

While the escape mode and the campaign mode are well-known and easily accessible, the 3D mode is hidden and extremely difficult to find. There are guides online.
10. Which of these is NOT a random event in the game?

Answer: Rival warden

Events were a feature added to the game to make it harder and unpredictable as these random events could occur at any time (as long as you have more than fifty prisoners and there isn't a riot going on). All of the events have an extreme version, which is very rare but MUCH more dangerous.

The virus is an event that will cause a virus to begin spreading throughout your prison, with infected prisoners infecting those near them. You need to contain the virus and cure it, otherwise prisoners could start falling unconscious or even dying!

The water pipe burst event is possibly the least dangerous event as you can simply replace the pipe as water starts to spread. Just make sure that the water stays away from power stations!

The agitating radio broadcasts will case inmates to start getting 'riled up'. It's advised that you immediately track down and remove all of the radios inside of the prison, otherwise the prisoners will start kicking off!
