Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which combination lets Kirby explode like fireworks?

Answer: Fire/Bomb

It's probably one of the best abilities in the game! Kirby will explode, sending a small circle of fireworks around him. You can use it up to three times in without touching the ground. The only flaw is if you use it up over a cliff...
2. Which ability gives Kirby figure skates?

Answer: Ice/Cutter

Great for speed but bad for battling, the figure skating ability provides a true challenge in "Kirby 64". Its only attack is to turn sharply, sending a tiny spray of ice in the opposite direction, doing minimal damage. It may also be hard to stop as the controls act is if you are on ice.
3. Which combination creates a huge set of jaws that Kirby claps over his mouth?

Answer: Cutter/Needle

It works great on flying enemies and it works great on Pix and Magman. You also get it really early in the game. It attacks from a distance, to the sides and above, therefore taking out incoming enemies and projectiles.
4. Which of these does Cutter/Bomb do?

Answer: Throw explosive ninja stars

The shuriken moves so fast it disappears when thrown until it hits an enemy, where it will get stuck in it and explode. Many players use it to speedrun minibosses, as you can rapidly throw them, as long as the previous one had already exploded.
5. In Rock Star Stage One (the stage with the pyramid and the rising sand), what combo do you need to break the yellow and brown wall at the end and get the crystal shard?

Answer: Rock/Spark

Rock/Spark creates a giant electrified stone to bounce around you. There is a string of electricity connected the rock to Kirby, and so some people call it "Tetherball". It is also a good combo for acting as a forcefield, and you can move at normal speed while using it, but seeing as it moves rather slow, it might not be the most reliable way.
6. In Aqua Star, stage three, at the end the third crystal shard requires you to wall jump up. From "Kirby's Dream Land 2" and "Kirby's Dream Land 3", you can use Rick the Hamster to wall jump, but in this game there are no animal friends. What power do you need to imitate Rick?

Answer: Rock/Cutter

Rock/Cutter lets you transform into all the animal buddies from the other games. There's Pitch the bird (can fly), Coo the owl (can also fly), Kine the fish (cannot move), Chuchu the pink blob (just jump), Nago the cat (triple jump), and Rick the hamster (wall jump). Kirby is indestructible while in these forms, but also moves very slowly (similar to just Rock or Rock/Rock).
7. A giant snowball is Ice/Rock.

Answer: False

Ice/Ice is the correct combination for the giant snowball. Ice/Rock turns Kirby into a slippery curling stone of sorts. This power-up is required for getting the second crystal shard in Neo Star: Stage 4. Enemies hit will be absorbed into the snowball and after you hit a wall or cancel it, they will fly out and kill enemies as projectiles.
8. One combination is very economic as it gives free health and can hurt enemies at times. Which combination is this?

Answer: Ice/Spark

Ice/Spark turns Kirby into a refrigerator that spits out three foods at a time. If they hit an enemy, the enemy will die. Kirby is vulnerable while he does this as he is immobile until he stops.
9. Which combo involves generating friction?

Answer: Fire/Spark

Kirby rubs a towel on his head, creating sparks, and his head will set aflame and he run around wildly. He destroys all enemies he touches although he cannot float or stop running until the fire stops.
10. The power used to defeat the final boss is called Fairy/Crystal Gun.

Answer: False

The correct term is Ribbon/Crystal Gun, as Ribbon is the fairy holding Kirby up during the boss fight with 02. Pressing the attack button will shoot crystals at the boss. It is impossible to get Crystal Gun or Ribbon anywhere else.
