Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many Jiggies are needed to complete the Treasure Trove Cove picture?

Answer: Two

This means that you need to obtain at least two Jiggies in Mumbo's Mountain to complete this picture (which isn't that hard. Jiggies practically lie in the open on Mumbo's Mountain). You'll also need to collect half of the Notes found in Mumbo's Mountain (50) to open the note door at the top of the Talon Trot pathway.

This is the first of many found in the lair and each will increase in Notes as you progress.
2. One skill learned in Treasure Trove Cove makes use of the Shock Jump Pad. What item is required to use the other skill?

Answer: Red Feathers

When you talk to Bottles on the top of Captain Blubber's shipwrecked vessel, he'll teach you how to use the blue flight pads to fly. With this skill, you can reach new heights and distant areas using the red feathers found around the lair and levels.

The green Shock Jump pads are also found throughout the game and Bottles will teach you this skill on the cliff looking over the sandcastle.
3. Which coloured Jinjo is at the highest height in this level?

Answer: Yellow

The Yellow Jinjo rests in a tree on a ledge next to the lighthouse at the top of this stage. To reach it, you'll need to either jump onto the tree or climb it, but watch out or you may fall and lose all of your honeycombs! The other Jinjos can be found on the top of Captain Blubber's ship, under the dock at the start of the level, on a narrow ledge, and on a high Shock Jump Pad. Watch out when you get the blue Jinjo or else you'll be shark bait!
4. In this stage, how many Empty Honeycombs are above the water?

Answer: One

In each stage, you're only going to find two Honeycombs. In this stage, the underwater Honeycomb will be nestled in a corner near Nipper's shell, and to get it, you'll need to swim out and evade Snacker the hungry shark. The second Honeycomb may be just as risky.

It's out on a small crate just past the chomping treasure chests and once again you may need to swim out to it. Otherwise, you can just fly over it and risk having to swim back.
5. What is the name of the shark that patrols the waters of Treasure Trove Cove?

Answer: Snacker

Every time you step foot into the water surrounding the cove, some ominous 'Jaws-like' music will play and you'll be forced to flee from the deadly Snacker. He will often blurt out a phrase to do with his being hungry and he won't stop chasing you until he takes a nip (which removes on Honeycomb) or until you flee from the water. Snacker will make it tough for you to obtain the Empty Honeycombs of the level and the blue Jinjo.
6. How many piles of gold do you need to retrieve for Captain Blubber?

Answer: Two

Both piles of gold can be found in the bowels of Blubber's ship and you'll need to find two separate entrances (one on the side and one in the deck) in order to get them both. Once you retrieve both, you'll get a Jiggy and he'll disappear until you play "Banjo-Tooie".

When you're in Blubber's ship, you can also reach some notes and a Mumbo Token, and on top of the ship is a Jinjo and one of Bottles' molehills.
7. What is the name of the seemingly-inaccessible island off the shores of Treasure Trove Cove?

Answer: Shark Food Island

Many players of "Banjo-Kazooie" feel that Sharkfood Island is a very important place because of the secrets that it contains. Using a code in the sandcastle or a Gameshark code, players can enter the island because it will rise from the sea. Inside will be a secret egg which will not have any purpose in the game.

Although Rare originally tried to link these to "Banjo-Tooie", plans did not go forward and they just remain easter eggs in the game. In "Banjo-Tooie", an ice key and a few eggs can be found for different cheats and unlockables, but these do not affect the first game.
8. Where can one find the Grunty Switch in this level?

Answer: Behind the lighthouse

When you reach the top of the lighthouse and hit the Grunty Switch, a cannon will shoot outside the entrance to the stage in Gruntilda's Lair and you'll be able to claim your prize. Like in Mumbo's Mountain, the Beak Buster skill needs to be used in order to pound the switch. If you have not claimed it, it's next to Mumbo's skull in the first stage.

There is one Grunty switch in each level and each one creates a Jiggy in Grunty's Lair.
9. What happens if you use Beak Buster on a Snippit?

Answer: It will give you two Honeycombs

Throughout the game, there are many ways of snagging extra Honeycombs from your enemies, and the Snippit method is one of the earlier instances. If you need health in Bubblegloop Swamp, the Flibbits (frog-like creatures) will also give you to Honeycombs if you attack them in the form of Mumbo's gator. If you don't need the Honeycombs quite yet, you can always leave them on the ground; they won't disappear unless there's a lot of Honeycombs still lying around.
10. What item must be used to gain entry to the sandcastle?

Answer: Eggs

If you happen to find Leaky the Bucket on a small ledge overtop the sandcastle, he'll ask for a bit of help. Fill him up with a couple of Kazooie's eggs and he'll drain the water from the sandcastle area so that you can enter it. Once inside, you can claim the Jiggy behind the gate by inputting Banjo-Kazooie when you hit the lettered floor tiles.

The sandcastle is often visited more than once by many players because Cheato's cheats (and other codes) are inputted using the floor tiles.
