Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Darkshire, the only major settlement in Duskwood, is of which faction?

Answer: Alliance

Like many zones to the north, Darkshire is supportive of Alliance players and as such it's the only location in the zone to contain a flightpath location (sending players to other southern locales in the Eastern Kingdoms. Darkshire is along the eastern side of the zone at a point where the paths meet at a perpendicular intersection.

The north-south path takes players along the eastern border of the zone while the path heading to the east takes players to other (higher-level) zones. Darkshire contains a town hall, an inn, and several NPCs in nearby houses. Players will only find some profession trainers here- none for classes.
2. Who is the only resident of Raven Hill?

Answer: Jitters

While Raven Hill was once a prosperous town in the western end of Duskwood, the shadows overtook it and its residents were required to flee to Darkshire across the zone. Now, only Jitters, a single level 25 NPC, remains. Although it can be discovered that Jitters was a member of the Defias Brotherhood in an attempt to invade the land of Duskwood, he clearly no longer follows this lead.

A Goblin from Booty Bay can also be found on the top floor of one of the houses in Raven Hill on occasion, but he really isn't a big deal. Jitters' quests will take Alliance players between both 'towns' of the zone.
3. What can be found at the Vul'Gol Mound in Duskwood?

Answer: Ogres

Vul'Gol Ogre Mound is in the southern portion of Duskwood, and while the Ogres found there aren't necessarily the most important aspect of the zone, some of the later quests received by Alliance players will send them here (including one to pick up a crate for Abercrombie and one to kill the Ogre leader within, Zzarc'Vul).

The area is between the path heading south out of the zone and Addle's Stead, a small farm property that only needs to be visited in a quest chain. Vul'Gol Ogre Mound is lower than most of the rest of the zone- players need to head into a small ravine to get into it.

There is also a cave here containing the boss.
4. What creature rests inside the church found at Tranquil Gardens Cemetery?

Answer: Insane Ghoul

The Insane Ghoul, though generically named, is a solitary higher-level-than-normal enemy found within the Tranquil Gardens Cemetery in the southeast corner of Duskwood (south of Darkshire). While the area is filled with a number of mid-level 20 undead creatures, one of the only reasons to visit is to pick up Blind Mary's looking glass from the corpse (of this...er...corpse).

The other enemies listed all make appearances in Duskwind and Blind Mary's quest chain begins with a delivery from Darkshire.
5. Which one of these otherwise difficult-to-find herbs is most frequently found in Duskwood?

Answer: Grave Moss

What with all of the graveyards, cemeteries, crypts, tombs, and evil dead stuff in Duskwood, it only seems suitable. Grave Moss is an herb only collectible with a ranking of 120 Herbalism, and while it's used for very few potions and inscriptions, players might as well collect it to level up their professions (if not to sell the resulting pick-up).

More than one third of all Grave Moss respawns in the game can be found in Duskwood. The next-best area for the herb in the game is the Desolace, across the world. Players raising rank in Herbalism can also find all of the mentioned herbs here.
6. Mor'Ladim is found patrolling what part of Duskwood?

Answer: A cemetery

Mor'Ladim is certainly a charmer. This Elite level 30 boss found wandering around a crypt in the Raven Hill Cemetery packs a punch for players delving into the 'Story of Morgan Ladimore' quest chain. In addition to this roaming skeleton, his area is patrolled by a number of undead healers, raiders, warders, and others.

Many of the later quests in the zone revolve around this area in the zone's western end. Most of these involve either killing a total number of ghouls/skeletons or collecting bits and pieces off of them.
7. Following a chain of quests involving Sven, you'll have to kill what Duskwood boss?

Answer: Morbent Fel

Comprised of fifteen different quests, the Morbent Fel quest chain is one of the longest in the Duskwood zone. Starting with a simple delivery to Sven, you'll need to make your way around the hollowed-out, undead remnants of Duskwood collecting journals, making deliveries, ridding the land of the undead, and eventually killing Morbent Fel, a rather unfriendly Elite boss in the Raven Hill Cemetery. Sven can be found in the northwest corner of the zone at an encampment on the Hushed Bank.

He's of the Alliance faction.
8. What area in Duskwood contains a portal to the Emerald Dream?

Answer: The Twilight Grove

Although all of these are locations that contain portals to the Emerald Dream, only the Twilight Grove is found in Duskwood. Seradane is in the Hinterlands in the north end of the Eastern Kingdoms, Dream Bough is in Feralas, and Bough Shadow is in Ashenvale (the last two of these are on Kalimdor).

The Twilight Grove is in the center of Duskwood, accessed by a path up into a mountained-off area. A Satyr boss who must be beaten in order to access the Caverns of Time (in Tanaris) can be found here.

A moonwell can be reached in this vicinity.
9. Which of these zones does not have a border touching Duskwood?

Answer: Badlands

In addition to Deadwind Pass (to the east), Stranglethorn Vale (to the south), and Westfall (to the west), Dusk wood also shares borders with the Human starting zone, Elwynn Forest (to the north), and Redridge Mountains (to the northeast) although the former can only be reached if you cross the River north of the Darkened Bank.

In addition, Deadwind Pass and Stranglethorn Vale are the only areas to be contested while bordering the region; Redridge is similar, but contains one Alliance town. Badlands is quite far to the north. Players can get there by going through Redridge Mountains, Burning Steppes, and Searing Gorge.
10. There are no instanced dungeons in Duskwood.

Answer: True

While Duskwood doesn't contain any instances, many of the surrounding zones do. Westfall contains the low-level Alliance-centric instance, The Deadmines while Stormwind City in Elwynn Forest includes the Stormwind Stockades. Stranglethorn Vale to the south contains the level 60+ dungeon, Zul'Gurub, which is filled to the brim with Jungle Trolls. Deadwind Pass, the highest-level adjacent zone, contains a "Burning Crusade" dungeon known as Karazhan made specifically for players level 70 and up.
